ROLE SUMMARY
Pfizer Partner of Choice (PofC) collaborations expand the way Pfizer works together with innovative biopharmaceutical partners to advance innovative therapies. This new business model is designed to enhance earlier and broader access to scientific innovation across the global biotech ecosystem and enhance the value of the innovation through Pfizer’s industry-leading expertise in end-to-end Research and Development (R&D) and manufacturing as well as global scale. The models offer Biotech companies access to Pfizer R&D scientists and Subject Matter Experts to advance the development of their innovative therapies using a fee-for-service model. Alternative deal structures are also used to create additional value for Pfizer and biotech partners.
The Partner of Choice (PoC) Strategic Partnerships Lead is responsible for identifying and securing partnerships with strategically important innovative biotech companies where the partner of choice model could be a good fit.
The Strategic Partnering Lead will identify and target innovative external partners to execute partner of choice service agreements with. The Lead will ensure that the target companies are aligned within Pfizer R&D focus areas and meet key criteria (e.g., strong innovation). The lead will also vet the target companies with relevant Pfizer leaders in PofC, R&D and Business Development, and other key stakeholders.
The Strategic Partnerships Lead will represent Pfizer and the entire range of Partner of Choice services to potential partners and enlist the support of Worldwide Research Development and Medical (WRDM), Global Product Development (GPD), and other key collaborators. The Strategic Partnerships Lead will need to have a thorough understanding of the PofC Governance process and work within the construct of the process with key stakeholders. The Strategic Partnerships Lead will have broad experience within the pharmaceutical industry, especially R&D (Candidate Selection through Phase 2 Development) and will work to transition new partners to the PofC Operational Leads, who will drive scoping and execution of new work with partners.
