DUTIES:
Provides investment analysis, both portfolio and market based, to key internal constituents, as well as current and prospective clients. Cover and lead the General Account mandate. Delivers expert Quantitative Investment Analytics and leadership responsibilities for the group. Works with portfolio managers, risk managers, traders, credit research, client service representatives and the sales and marketing team to deliver performance attribution and analytics, monitor portfolio positioning, alignment and risk exposures, collect and analyze market data and model portfolios and custom benchmarks for portfolio management. Portfolio optimization are key project level tasks of the role. Understands and participates in portfolio construction and trade construction within multiple sets of constraints or guidelines that exist for the portfolio sphere they cover. Successfully navigates multiple, and at times competing, ad hoc requests and projects simultaneously that relate to market or portfolio analytics received from all parts of the larger Fixed Income organization. Routinely make individual contributions, but will also be responsible for the management, training, and development of more junior analysts. Partners closely with peers throughout Fixed Income to build organizational capabilities, represents their area of expertise to internal clients and departments and is responsible for setting goals and accomplishing the objectives of the Portfolio Analysis Group.
REQTS:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, followed by five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the position offered or a financial analyst-related position. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in stated field, plus three (3) years of experience in the position offered or a financial analyst-related position. Must have three (3) years of experience with: Understanding of the financial services and asset management industries; Monitor and assess portfolio positioning with respect to interest rate, and customer withdrawal risk, providing construction and alignment insight where possible; Integrate specific customer segment needs into the firm’s investment product development process and strategies to ensure complete analytics are in place for all portfolios; Follow developments, views and themes within the market or markets applicable to client segments or groups understand how those drive product proposition and performance; Compare and contrast various new and existing product proposition, assess appropriate product offering for given customer segment or group; Construct interest rate model based on customer segment guidelines as well as modelling of impact of market change to existing customers; Deliver and effectively communicate monthly and quarterly performance analysis; Work with large datasets and using visualization tools, including PowerPoint for presentations and reports; Advanced modeling programs, including Excel, VBA and SQL; Provide leadership, talent development and execution against the organization’s strategic goal set, and managing and providing ongoing training to junior personnel.
