Prudential Internal Audit – Vice President, Audit Practices
An opportunity is available within Prudential’s Internal Audit Department for an experienced auditor to lead the team responsible Audit Practices, including Methodology, Quality Assurance, Management & Regulatory Reporting, Resource Management, Budget & Finance and Operations. This high-profile position, reporting to the Chief Audit Executive and part of the global Audit Senior Leadership Team, enables the opportunity to oversee the global department by providing enhancements, support and guidance for its operations. The successful candidate will lead the Audit Practices team, reporting into the Chief Audit Executive, and be responsible for ensuring compliance with our functional and regulatory mandates, building relationships across the risk partner functions, and providing support to all global audit teams. In addition, as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the individual selected will assume significant talent-related responsibilities, including staff development, recruiting, and succession planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversight of the global audit methodology and related internal and external quality assurance programs, including continuation of efforts to establish internationally consistent standards and ensuring compliance with IIA requirements and IAD methodologies.
Act as a proactive thought leader by setting strategy, policy, and audit resource allocations in support of business initiatives ensuring audit activities align with enterprise strategies.
Partnering with global audit teams across the Department on the development, staffing and management of the audit plan.
Reporting key metrics, both internally and externally, to provide insights about observations, issues trends, plan completion and results.
Board level reporting for the Audit Department, in close partnership with Audit Committee Liaison.
Overseeing relationship with the strategic co-sourcing partner, including management of internal and external resource level, and KPIs to appropriately staff and execute the audit plan.
Executing, in conjunction with Enterprise risk partners, Future of Audit and/or NFRM optimization initiatives including global implementation of the new GRC tool (including, but not limited to, methodology updates, testing, training, communications, general project management).
Partnering with Learning & Development to oversee training curriculum to support upskilling talent needs.
Act as liaison with appropriate external professional organizations and keep informed on new developments in the field of auditing asset management. Management of regulatory reporting, including external reviews.
Supervision of the annual Department-wide budget, transformation financial commitment, and quarterly forecasts, as well as internal finance activities (chargebacks, journal entries, etc.).
Oversight of coordination of early talent programs, including the intern program and internal rotations.
Lead and/or contribute towards continuous improvement of operational practices including the elimination of low-value work.
Partnering with Communications lead on development and delivery of stakeholder communications related to responsibilities noted above.
Leading the Department’s operations, practices to enable auditors to deliver on our mandate.
Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with the global Audit Department executives, staff as well as key executives of Enterprise Risk Partners.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess a high level of executive presence and energy and be highly collaborative. They should be highly motivated, proactive, conceptual thinker who is able to take a leadership role in a wide variety of assignments within a multi-disciplinary team. Other qualifications include:
Executive-level experience as an Internal Audit professional and/or Audit Practices, with demonstrated success in providing value-added insights to business leaders and serving as a trusted advisor to both business and Audit Department leaders.
Highly motivated, proactive, conceptual thinker who is able to take a leadership role in a wide variety of strategic initiatives and influence others to achieve desired outcomes while maintaining operational excellence on business-as-usual activities.
Excellent analytical skills with an ability to multi-task, work independently, influence others and manage competing priorities.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to partner effectively and enable auditors with simplified practices and solutions.
Strong understanding of project management through agile principles.
Superior organizational skills and good attention to detail, with a focus on quality deliverables/outcomes.
An undergraduate degree related required. Advanced degree strongly preferred (e.g., MS, MBA); Industry-recognized certifications highly desired.
15+ years of relevant experience (auditing or audit practice and operations oversight); well versed in current IIA standards.

This position is hybrid, offering flexible work arrangements, with 2-3 days a week in Newark, NJ however the successful candidate can expect to travel to business locations within the U.S. and in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Travel not expected to exceed 10%.
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $195,500.00 to $264,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
