Job Description:
The Prudential Retirement Strategies Product Development team is seeking a Director, Product Development to support the development of our “roadmap” for delivering solutions to market and expanding access to retirement income security. The role will be responsible for evaluating opportunities to enhance existing retirement income solutions or to develop new solutions. In particular, this individual will have ownership for the initial assessment of financial viability for the proposed designs, including financial risk, capital impacts, profitability, and asset/liability management. The financial viability is one component of the broader viability scorecard, which will be evaluated in collaboration with business partners across Prudential Retirement Strategies. This individual would then work with our Pricing partners to transition those initiatives that are deemed appropriate to proceed into formal design and pricing.
The position will report to the Vice President, Annuities Product Development and will include the following responsibilities:
Support our overall business strategy by identifying, prioritizing, and assessing new product opportunities and changes/enhancements for current products
Lead viability assessments of business opportunities, inclusive of customer value, financial implications, distribution partner impacts, implementation considerations, and long-term strategic investment
Closely partner with Actuarial, Finance, Risk Management, and other partners to understand and assess all financial implications/opportunities of potential business cases, including impacts to pricing assumptions, profitability, capital, etc.
Drive business case development through the facilitation of cross-functional working sessions and team leadership
Assist in the definition of short and long-term strategy and deliverables
Manage and continuously improve innovation processes
Ensure alignment with corporate expectations and business strategy
Establish relationships and credibility across the business to effectively communicate product strategy to all levels of the organization
Qualifications:
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $140,300.00 to $189,800.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
