    We are looking for a leader who has demonstrated expertise in a variety of information technology concepts, practices, and procedures and can lead teams, small and large, to design, develop, modify and implement customer facing applications. We are looking for a hands-on leader who is outcome focused, creative, loves solving puzzles and can work collaboratively.

    This position will be part of the Application Modernization Engineering team. You will collaborate with other Managers, Technical Leads, Developers, Testers, Product Owners and Architects cross Prudential to build the next generation of core applications for Prudential.

    Candidate must be able to lead a team through the learning and implementation of new technologies as we adopt them and help lead the evolution of the team as our applications evolve. Excellent written and oral communication skills are an absolute must.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with technology, architecture, product management and design teams to drive outcomes with focus on enriched customer experience

    • Fosters an iterative/Agile environment

    • Manage multiple teams and projects simultaneously

    • Provides technical guidance to team and writes seed code for team when needed

    • Delivers end to end solution, using innovative approaches to complex design problems

    • Writes code as needed

    • Leads technical teams to deliver high quality products

    • Can lead Scrum of Scrums for a number of scrum teams

    • Lead Engineering and Operational Excellence collection and review across teams

    • Lead and coordinate complex code release from pre-prod to Prod while collaborating across a number of teams

    • Drives Engineering and Operational Excellence within teams.

    • Writes original code to deliver end to end solution using innovative approaches to complex design problems

    • Leads troubleshooting and remediation of production problems as needed

    • Reverse engineers code if needed

    Qualifications:

    • Must possess an undergraduate degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience

    • At least 10 years of industry experience in ever larger and more responsible roles, including team management

    • Must have at least 3 years of experience actively using the Agile SDLC

    Technical Qualifications:

    • Deep proficiency in more than one programming language is required. Knowledge of Spring boot framework, Microservices, AWS, Java, SQL, will be required

    • Must have experience with service implementation using service-oriented architecture (SOA) patterns, experience with developing true microservices highly desirable

    • Must have previous experience building and delivering APIs and platforms for consumption at scale

    • Must understand and have worked with security concepts like authentication, authorization, encryption, digital signature, MFA, SSL, etc.

    • Must have experience with web service proxies, firewalls, multi-protocol gateways, etc.

    • Must know how to build applications for and in the cloud (preferably AWS) and understand the core AWS services and apply best practices regarding security and scalability.

    • Understanding of core AWS services, uses, and basic AWS architecture best practices. Proficiency writing code for serverless applications such as EC2, Lambda and API Gateway

    • Understanding of cloud databases and NoSQL concepts (DynamoDB, Aurora) including caching (ElastiCache)

    • Ability to use a CI/CD pipeline to deploy applications on Cloud (preferably AWS)

    Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $163,600.00 to $221,400.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
