In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence the future of Prudential through managing the integrity, efficiency, and availability of data. Your expertise and knowledge will never go wasted as we maximize our investment in our employees to complete complex analysis, compelling storytelling, achieve business and customer impact, and creative solutions. 

    The main purpose of this position is help pursue “what is possible” and to assist the data management team in the formation and execution of a robust, scalable, and sustainable data governance framework, policies, and standards that lend to an improved data foundation to:  

    • Increase the value and use of data for employees, customers, and our business 
    • Increasing confidence and consistency in the quality of data 
    • Eliminating or minimizing re-work 
    • Minimizing the risk of regulatory/compliance failures. 
    • Optimizing effectiveness and efficiency in data access and utilization 
    • Continually enhance controls in the support of data security and privacy 

    Responsibilities 

    • Work with business partners to gather and understand functional requirements that support the development of control structures within a complex environment that ensures the privacy, accuracy, comprehensiveness, and quality throughout the data lifecycle  
    • Document and maintain data standards while partnering with functional and business data owners to map existing data structures, usage, and common definitions 
    • Provide consultative support and thought leadership while participating on project teams that involve any/all of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes 
    • Ensure controls are in place to ensure the data integrity by performing gap analysis and working with business owners and technology teams to coordinate resolution 
    • Work with business partners to gather and understand functional requirements, develop solutions, and provide measurable impact reports. 
    • Responsible for the stewardship of data concepts (i.e., business terms) across the enterprise 
    • Contribute to the definition and management of enterprise data domains 
    • Contribute content and discussion topics in support of data governance council(s) 

    Qualifications 

    • 5-10 years experience in Data Governance and Data Management concepts and frameworks 
    • Experience in, or knowledge of Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Quality and Data Lineage tooling and principles 
    • Hands-on experience in using one or more data management/governance toolsets. For example, from: 
      • Calibra, Informatica, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, Alteryx, Tibco 
    • Possess the talent and experience for influencing and networking to help build and foster strong business relationships and leveraging those relationships to seek consensus amongst stakeholders on data governance matters 
    • Ability to apply analytical and creative thought processes to uncover business challenges and opportunities and offer actionable solutions.  
    • Proven success contributing to a multi-location team-oriented environment 
    • Proven ability to deliver high-impact deliverables in tight timelines 
    • Eagerness to learn, try new things, and share your experience and knowledge 

    Good to have experience 

    • Experience in implementing Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Quality and Data Lineage processes and SOPs from the ground up 
    • Knowledge of data specific regulations – i.e. BCBS239, IFRS9, GDPR, HIPPA 
    • Experience in Agile and Lean philosophies and frameworks 
    • Experience in evaluating processes and procedures and making recommendations to senior audiences

    Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $111,400.00 to $165,800.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
