    Prudential International Insurance (PII) manufactures life insurance, retirement and related products that are provided to customers across numerous distribution channels in Japan and the Emerging Markets. PII’s Emerging Markets business includes our wholly owned operations in Brazil, Argentina
    and Mexico, and our joint ventures and investments in Chile, Peru, Colombia, China, Indonesia, India and Africa. PII’s Emerging Market business is key to Prudential Financial, Inc.’s overall strategy and is expected to expand through both organic and inorganic growth.

    The Manager - Financial Reporting (Emerging Markets) is part of PII Finance’s Controllership Team. This role will work closely with Corporate Development team, PII Emerging Market team and PII Capital team and will oversee the accounting due diligence, purchase accounting, financial reporting and analysis of PII’s strategic initiatives, and lead the onboarding and integration of these initiatives from financial accounting and reporting perspective. This role will also support the accounting and financial reporting for existing Emerging Market operations including reviews of accounting entries, financial statement analysis and related disclosures.

    This position requires in-depth technical accounting and US GAAP background, strong GAAP research and case analysis skills, and involves interaction with local finance teams, PII Finance teams, Corporate Controllers, Actuarial, and Tax, as well as other internal and external stakeholders.

    Primary Responsibilities Include:
    • Lead accounting due diligence, purchase accounting and opening balance sheet preparation for M&A projects or similar strategic initiatives
    • Prepare accounting memos to document significant accounting matters and accounting treatment of strategic initiatives that are communicated with internal and external stakeholders
    • Lead onboarding and integration of acquired entities from accounting and reporting perspectives including the establishment of financial reporting and analysis processes,
    • Understand the accounting reporting processes of strategic initiative entities, including financial accounting risk and internal controls, and evaluate target entities’ financial results
    • Maintain strong working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting rules
    • Partner with multiple stakeholders, including, but not limited to, Corporate Development, PII Emerging Market team, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Finance and third-party providers
    • Create and deliver high quality accounting considerations presentation materials to senior corporate executives
    • Assist US GAAP reporting process of PII’s existing wholly owned operations and joint ventures in Asia, Latin America, and Africa. This includes but is not limited to reviewing journal entries, financial statements and results review package, and required supplemental GAAP disclosures
    • With support from the project team, help drive the implementation of US GAAP’s Long Duration
    Targeted Improvement (LDTI) accounting pronouncement with local operations
    • Provide accounting guidance and training to the local finance teams and PII internal business
    Partners
    • Perform special projects as needed

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor or Graduate degree in Accounting/Finance
    • CPA designation or candidate is a plus
    • In-depth technical and working knowledge of US GAAP
    • Experience with M&A transactions, including due diligence and purchase accounting
    • Minimum eight (8) years of related experience
    • Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office applications
    • Financial reporting software experience (Oracle) is a plus
    • Strongly demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and research skills
    • Excellently displayed verbal and written communication skills
    • Strongly demonstrated project management and organizational skills
    • Team player and results focused
    • Comfortable working independently
    • Flexibility to devote additional effort during peak periods

    Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $108,000.00 to $160,700.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
