    Position summary

    Job Classification:

    Corporate - Legal and Compliance

    PGIM Central Compliance provides compliance support to the PGIM organization by:

    monitoring and supporting the compliance program for the PGIM centralized functional units, including ensuring the activities of PGIM associates are in accordance with Prudential's and PGIM’s policies governing such areas of individual conduct as personal securities trading, gifts, travel, and entertainment; pay-to-play regulations, insider information, and conflicts of interest;  conducting required monitoring and testing of compliance risks according to the Compliance Risk Management Program providing compliance support for global PGIM marketing efforts maintaining current and appropriate PGIM compliance policies and procedures. leading coordinated efforts with respect to regulatory and contractual requirements, including requisite regulatory filings. developing and deploying compliance training. serving as a general resource for resolving legal and interpretive issues relating to the asset management function. providing project management for cross business unit compliance initiatives; and seeking and implementing ways to continuously improve the PGIM Compliance program.

    PGIM Central Compliance has a Manager level position available.  The Manager will support the compliance program of the PGIM centralized functional units and work closely with the various PGIM business and corporate compliance teams regarding the regulatory and compliance requirements associated with a registered investment advisor who must also comply with various investment adviser, investment company, broker-dealer and insurance regulations.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Project management for implementation of new/revised rules and regulations, global compliance programs, and Compliance transformation initiatives, (including any associated technology platforms) in the investment advisory space. Includes, among other things:

      • Coordination and collaboration with:
        • Corporate Compliance Centers of Excellence for program management
        • Project Teams for implementation of programs or new technologies
        • PGIM CCOs, PGIM business compliance, PGIM businesses and other control partners
      • Documentation and communication of key program and related process changes affecting PGIM businesses
      • Conducting risk and gap analyses
      • Tracking and insuring closure/integration of PGIM requirements (process, workflow, technology-related, etc.)
    • Leadership for various regulatory disclosures filings (Form ADV, Forms PF, Canadian regulatory, etc.).    which requires working knowledge of all applicable investment advisory rules and regulations to serve as a resource for developing, implementing and communicating guidance to business partners.

    • Management and development of compliance data analytics and metrics from varied, global source systems. Metrics include: personal securities trading, gift & entertainment, training, marketing review, among others. 

    • Compliance Risk Management Program and Rule 206(4)-7 testing for the PGIM central functions. Includes:

      • Overseeing, developing and executing a proactive and strategic CRMP within PGIM that is both risk-based and data driven, including conducting inherent and residual risk assessments.
      • Developing and executing the CRMP’s approach for the PGIM Central functional supporting and for cross-PGIM risk mitigation
      • Leading and coordinating risk mitigation through issue escalation and tracking of identified gaps
      • Coordinating transition from Archer to OpenPages as new issue tracking and resolution platform

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Assist coordination of regulatory examinations including SEC, NJDOBI, etc. and other audits (internal and external)
    • Lead and coordinate implementation of new regulations and compliance programs that have cross business impact to ensure consistent handling and documentation.
    • Support PGIM’s and Enterprise Axonify Program through creation, updates and review of Axonify refresher questions and other content (i.e. guided learnings, etc.); create ad-hoc learning modules (i.e. BU targeted modules, registered representative module, etc.)
    • Provide code of conduct (outside business activities, gifts & entertainment, conflicts of interest, disclosures, etc.) support to PGIM functional units
    • Provide guidance on legal and regulatory requirements, including identifying major risk factors, and advising business compliance officers on effectively assessing, detecting, and resolving such issues across multiple business units.

    Qualifications and required skills include:

    • Proven experience in a regulated investment advisory or risk management capacity
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of compliance experience, primarily in an asset management organization or consultancy role
    • Experience working for an SEC registered investment adviser and with coordinating with regulators (SEC, FINRA NJDOBI, etc.), a plus
    • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and be goal-driven and focused in evolving and ambiguous environments.
    • Openness to taking on varied assignments
    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Experience developing compliance data analytics and metrics. Power-BI, a plus.
    • Proven analytical, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills
    • Very strong writing skills – ability to clearly and concisely convey ideas, recommendations, etc
    • Highly collaborative, open-minded and able to work with and influence others without having direct authority
    • Confident and independent self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities with varying deadlines
    • Proven leadership especially in a cross functional, global capacity
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in identifying, selectively escalating and resolving issues
    • Advanced Excel skills and proficient PC skills (Outlook/Word/PowerPoint)

    Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $108,000.00 to $160,700.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
