    The Manager, Treasury serves as a strategic contributor within the Structured Finance Solutions (“SFS”) team within the Treasury Department, as part of the Global Finance Community. The SFS team partners with Prudential’s Business Units and other corporate functions across Financial Management to lead the execution of unique structured solutions to advance critical business and enterprise objectives including capital optimization, growth enablement, and management of risk. Solutions executed include a diverse set of structures such as internal/external reinsurance, financing structures and derivatives, and collateral/liquidity vehicles. The Manager will contribute to potential solutions across the entire project life cycle from evaluation to execution. Responsibilities will include evaluation, business case development, prioritization, structuring, negotiation and execution.

    Reporting to the Vice President of Structured Finance Solutions within Treasury, this position is a high exposure role that will work extensively with Prudential’s senior leadership within Finance, Actuarial, Reinsurance, ERM, Legal, Portfolio Management, Treasury, and all of Prudential’s Business’s on strategic initiatives critical to the continued success of the Enterprise. The Manager, Treasury will work in close partnership with actuarial counterparts across the entire project life cycle. The Manager, Treasury, will also be responsible for working with external solutioning partners, including banks and reinsurer, through all stages of a project.

    The position requires a strong leader and financial athlete capable of developing a deep understanding and ultimately the ability to solution across a diverse set of complex technical topics. Strong aptitude is required in GAAP, Statutory, Tax and Management reporting bases, along with the related actuarial, risk and capital concepts, business fundamental and product features, regulatory requirements, investment, derivative and reinsurance structures, as well as legal documentation. Strong leadership, partnership and collaboration skills, and the ability to face off with both internal and external subject matter experts across each of those disciplines is required.

    Primary Responsibilities will include:

    • Evaluation of potential solutions and business case development to assess quantitative and qualitative viability for presentation to business and corporate function leaders. Effectively communicate deal structure and impact via both written and verbal presentations in a simple and consumable way for internal executive audiences.

    • Structuring solutions by levering understanding of product economics or corporate enterprise objectives and translating in creative solutions in the context of accounting, actuarial, risk, tax, regulatory (etc.) constraints.

    • Interface with both internal senior leaders to explain transaction outcomes.

    • Detailed review of legal documentation through partnership with internal and external counsel to ensure legal documentation is consistent with agreed upon deal terms with appropriate legal protections.

    • Help lead projects within an end-to-end project management framework. Influence, manage, and lead cross functional teams of subject matter experts under an organized and rigorous schedule to facilitate timely execution.

    • Facilitate internal approvals in accordance with established governance requirements.

    Qualifications include:

    • Progress toward an MBA with finance or accounting concentration or other advanced degree with CFA/CPA designation is preferred.

    • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science or business-related field

    • 5+ years of financial management/analysis/research or actuarial experience, transaction structuring or deal execution experience with exceptional analytical skills highly preferred.

    • Demonstrated leadership and partnering skills, including success in influencing outside of direct reporting line.

    • Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to break down complex risk, actuarial or financial concepts and communicate them to all levels of management.

    • Strong, diverse and flexible knowledge of financial services, life insurance and actuarial concepts, GAAP, statutory and tax accounting, regulatory, risk and capital frameworks.

    • Familiarity or experience with reinsurance concepts and structures across US and international jurisdictions (e.g., Bermuda)

    • Critical thinking and problem-solving experience required

    • Proven ability in project management to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects

    • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, including interfacing with members of Senior Management

    Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $111,400.00 to $165,800.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
