    Description

    Prudential Financial, one of America’s largest diversified Financial Services Companies, seeks a skilled and highly motivated individual to become part of our team as a Planning & Analysis Specialist in the Long-Term Care Finance area. Based in Newark NJ, this position will report to a Planning & Analysis Manager supporting the Long-Term Care business. The successful candidate will coordinate and support all aspects of the financial planning, forecasting, and capital management processes. This area is highly visible and involves closely partnering with Actuarial, ALM Finance, Corporate Management Reporting, Corporate Tax and Treasury. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work regularly with management and play a key role in the completion of important forecast deliverables. The position offers the candidate an excellent opportunity to develop and utilize communication and analytical skills, implement process improvements, and gain a deep knowledge of the drivers impacting Long- Term Care’s GAAP, STAT and capital forecasts. 

    Job Responsibilities include:

    • Assist the Finance team in the coordination and development of quarterly GAAP and Statutory forecast projections for both Base and alternate/stress scenarios in conjunction with the enterprise forecast process
    • Assist with the coordination and development of capital reporting and forecasting deliverables including Risk Based Capital (RBC), Operating Equity, Required Capital, and rightsizing
    • Collaborate with Treasury, Actuarial, ALM Finance and Corporate Tax to ensure all forecast requirements and deadlines are met
    • Understand key business drivers, how they impact the business, and their financial implications to the forecast
    • Assist in preparation of financial analysis including profitability analysis of current year projections relative to prior forecast as well as the review of multi-year forecast trends
    • Support the business in the implementation of the FASB’s Targeted Improvements to the Accounting for Long Duration Contracts (LDTI) update into the 2022 GAAP multi-year forecasts
    • Contribute to periodic projects and presentations adjacent to the core forecasting and capital processes (e.g., Model Risk, annual Capital Plan)
    • Support weekly cash flow and cash balance transfer process

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate degree with a major in Accounting or Finance preferred, with 2+ years of relevant experience
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
    • Eager to learn and accept new and challenging work assignments
    • High-level of self-motivation
    • Results oriented and attentive to detail
    • Working knowledge of Prudential’s financial systems is desirable (Obero, Oracle, etc.)
    • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills a plus

    Overtime required during peak hours.

The salary range for this role is from $68,400.00 to $101,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
