Job Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day administration, technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, patching, performance and overall health of Enterprise applications, Microsoft SQL database infrastructure within a UNIX, Linux, and Microsoft Windows Server clustered server environment. Ensure high levels of data availability and reliability of the systems. Respond effectively to the continuing demands for information 24/7 by business clients, contractors, and other areas of IT.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Responsible for the operations and maintenance of critical IT platforms including secure file transmission between internal and external stakeholders.
• Comply with policies and procedures for the administration of the databases, maintenance and upgrades of database software, and oversight of backups and standby databases. Establish and maintain databases for user tests and production purposes.
• Work closely with business clients in understanding file transfer requirements and ensuring proper performance of transactions within the application infrastructure in support of complex business requirements and processes
• Work closely with Product Managers and vendors on new systems, enhancements, and upgrades to the database environment
• Monitor and deploy security patches as required to maintain a secure system; provide support for database security and SOX audits to ensure database integrity and user access
• Create and maintain documentation including data dictionaries, source-to-target maps, and database policies and guidelines.
• Collaborate with the application developers, middleware, infrastructure, security, testing, networking, help desk, on a daily basis to manage and resolve IT operational issues. Perform root cause analysis on production issues as necessary
• Proactively seek out ways to improve performance and streamline database environments
• Ensure high levels of data availability and reliability of the systems
• Participate in Disaster Recovery planning, testing and execution

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)

• A minimum of 2 years of experience automating or designing IT application workflows or integrations using languages like Python, Go, Bash and Batch
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with Windows/Linux Operating System, SQL based databases
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with installation and configuration of software systems/platforms
• Must demonstrate strong analytical skills and sound judgement
• Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, leadership, and employees at all levels
• Must demonstrate understanding of the systems development lifecycle
• Must demonstrate solid understanding of business processes
Desired:
• Experience in file structures, design, retrieval and access methods, etc.
• Familiarity with AWS Cloud Platform, M365, SharePoint, Secure File Transfer Protocol
• ITIL Foundation certificate
• Microsoft SQL certifications
• Understanding of other common RDMS database systems
• Experience working with databases that are clustered and attached to a SAN infrastructure
• Working knowledge of: NERC, NIST, CIP, Sarbanes Oxley, CEII, PII, BES
