As a Qualcomm Systems Engineer, you will research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions that enables the development of cutting-edge technology. Qualcomm Systems Engineers collaborate across functional teams to meet and exceed system-level requirements and standards.

Role:

• Location : Bangalore.

A successful candidate will lead one or more technology domains, among the SoC Management function of Qualcomm’s SoC platform architecture. The role defines the architecture features for the family of upcoming SoCs across diverse business units (Automotive, Compute, MSM, MDM, XR/Gagming, IoT).  Collaborating with SoC leadership team,  platform architect will drive efficient, SoC Management methods, mechanisms and HW/SW solutions that meet challenging KPIs, on world-class Qualcomm products in diverse form factors and use cases. The requirements in this role are quite a challenge to depth of knowledge, expertise in both technical and inter-personal skill space.

Requirements:

Education:

Must: Bachelors degree in Electronics/Electrical and related trades of engineering

Desired : Masters in Electronics/Electrical and related trades of engineering

Level of Experience:

15 years of extensive ASIC/SoC hardware engineering design/validation experience, of which at least 2-5 years is in architecture

Area of expertise:

• Deep interest and acumen in HW architecture work (Platform, SoC, IP)
• Understanding of ARM SoC architecture concepts backed by HW experience and interfacing with SW teams for HW/SW partitioning
• ARM SoC infrastructure planning experience, with clear understanding of Interfaces, inter-connect, security, access control requirements leading to PPA impact
• High level understanding of SoC memory management concepts, such as on-die/off-die memory, virtualization, addressing methods and L1/L2/L3 caches, cache management
• VLSI design flow for ASIC/SoC with clear understanding of post-design work flow including physical design, silicon bring up and measurements/validation against target KPIs
• Experience and expertise in one or more of the SoC Management Domains
  • Power architecture : High level methods for low power, Power estimation, optimization, and microarchitecture feasibility analysis
  • Power management, dynamic voltage/frequency scaling requirements, power distribution, Power gating, power switching and power islands
  • SoC Debug, Debug infrastructure planning, SW support, ARM SoC debug flow and methods
  • Clock & Reset, Boot, System/Sub-system restart, distributed vs centralized control
  • Time-Sync, Interrupts, Inter-IP synchronization mechanisms
  • SoC resource sharing (ex: memory/compute/interface) and resource management methods
  • SoC Boot flow, boot security, HW/SW requirements per specific boot modes (mission mode, debug, crash recovery)
  • Configuration, Status Registers, Device statistics, profiling, and telemetry
  • Power/Thermal limits management
  • Product category specific requirements such as reliability, availability, safety
• Communication and Inter-personal skills
  • Effective verbal/written communication
  • Clear identification of problem statement, given a challenge, Crisp articulation of issues, solutions, and risks
  • Excellent collaboration within and across teams, applying clear understanding of roles from customers, stakeholders,  partners and competitors
