Additive MFG Engineer

Additive Printing – Tooling Engineer

In this newly created position, you will be supporting the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies such as additive tooling, additive parts within our manufacturing facilities.  You will work closely with Engineering across multiple value streams to support the implementation and the development of additive technologies.

• Support additive design and manufacturing corporate strategy development and execution

• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the functional teams implementing additive part and tooling projects. Technical knowledge must span the whole additive process, including design, analysis, material selection, and manufacturing process

• Lead business case development for product and tooling prototype or production additive applications

• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the functional teams implementing additive part and tooling projects. Technical knowledge must span the whole additive process, including design, analysis, material selection, and manufacturing process

• Partner with Product Engineering counterparts to productionize value added applications

• Manage procurement, installation, commissioning, start-up and continuous improvement of purchased additive equipment

• Develop strategic partnerships (industry, academia, equipment makers, etc.) to enable additive capability growth

• Monitor market for competitive intelligence and for new and emerging additive technologies

• Lead or support additive PDT to ensure consistent cross functional alignment on strategy, sharing of lessons learned, and technology development

Qualifications:

• Understanding of manufacturing technologies

• Experience in thermoforming and quality management

• Proficiency with of software such as Siemens NX, Solidworks and Microsoft Office

• Proficiency with engineering analysis tools – FEA Analysis, Topology Optimization

• A passion for technology and creative mindset

• Courage to explore new ideas, learn new technologies, a proactive desire to learn

• Any other duties as required to support business needs.
