Buyer (Commercial) (Onsite)

Role Overview:

This role is for an established Procurement professional. Carries out Procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFPs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis. Responds to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction. This role will be supporting our commercial business and will interact with program management, planning, and engineering.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity.

Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family.

Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost. May perform delivery assurance responsibilities.

Plans and organizes all elements of product manufacturing and distribution related to the acquisition of materials and services.

Carries out Procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFPs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis.

Responds to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction.

Carries out activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services to ensure terms are in the organization’s best interest.

Prepares purchase orders, approves payments, and negotiates prices to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly, under general guidance.

Compiles price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to provide input on reasonable prices.

Prepares request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages to take on new accounts.

Monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR
• In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

MRP/ERP experience is preferred.

Prior purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Experience in supply chain/procurement with increasing levels of responsibility preferred.

No travel at this time due to COVID-19 restrictions, post pandemic, travel up to 25% of the time could be necessary.

Professional Supply Chain Certification Preferred.

Ability to read and understand the basics of Build to Print mechanical drawings.

Experience with new product development projects in varying sizes and durations.

The salary range for this role is $70,000.00 to $152,000.00; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
