Position summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking to add a Contracts Administrator to our Space Systems Contracts Team to manage multiple proposals and contracts concurrently.  This role will manage a high volume of contracts and associated business relationships for our Space Systems business including Low Earth Orbit and Deep Space applications. The ideal candidate will have US Government contract as well as commercial contract experience.  The qualified candidate will take personal initiative to proactively serve both internal and external customers.  This person will provide customers with quality experiences, establishing and maintaining effective relationships through the entire contract management process.  We define success as exceeding customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reviews incoming customer requests for quotes, identifies proposal/quotes requirements, reviews terms and conditions for acceptability and compliance with company policies and procedures, assists in proposal development as required and participates in securing required management approval for submittal of proposals to customers.

  • Maintaining contract documents and communication in a contract database.

  • Responsible for negotiating, structuring, and/or administrating contractual documents that establish business relationships with customers and/or partners. Works with sales, finance and service teams as well as the legal department to structure contracts. Analyzes contracts to ensure compliance to company policy, government specifications and other requirements.

  • Operates in accordance with company policies and practices, and in compliance with accepted business ethics.

  • Takes proper action to close out the contract in accordance with applicable procedures at the conclusion of all activity.

  • Assures the timely communication of contract information to appropriate persons and maintains complete and accurate contract files.

  • Acts as principal interface with internal/external customers on contractual matters. Takes necessary action or coordinates action to resolve any contractual problems with the contract execution team in a timely manner.

  • Normally receives little instruction on day to day work, general instructions on new assignments.

  • May require travel to support customer negotiations/meetings (when circumstances permit).

  • Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advanced degree and 1-2 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace experience

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • Prior experience with OEM Contracts

  • FAR experience

  • International Commercial Contract Experience

  • SAP experience
