Pratt & Whitney is seeking a motivated Engineer to participate with an Engineering Tools and Methods team of engineers developing computer automation tools, and optimization workflows to explore multi-disciplinary design spaces. Automation tools include but are not limited to CAD, CAE, and analysis post processing tools. Collaborate in a Lean, Agile team structure to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions. This is an opportunity to work with a team of Structures Engineers to develop state-of-the-art high cycle fatigue (HCF) and low cycle fatigue (LCF) methods for use in evaluating the next generation of jet engine components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architecting and implementing new engineering applications
- Prepare and maintain documentation
- Work with customers to define requirements and troubleshoot issues
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience.
- US Citizenship required due to government contracts
- Less than 10% travel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience with Cloud Computing, preferably Amazon Web Services
- Experience with GitHub and software documentation
- Working knowledge of Java programming is desirable
- Interest in parametric geometry and finite element modeling, and structural engineering
- Interested in analytical work, as well as automation tools and methods
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Desire to work in a creative, team environment
