Strategic Systems, a dynamic and growing ground system mission area is seeking a Program Management Director to lead a portfolio of programs associated with DoD customers located in Aurora, CO. The Program Director is responsible for the strategic direction of related programs and pursuits by establishing and leading the appropriate execution rhythm and customer engagement processes. In his role, the Director will establish the execution vision to align customer needs with dynamically changing cross-program goals and activities. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading transformative programs, a willingness to apply innovation to address programmatic challenges and experience leading teams with rapid delivery milestones.
In this role the Director will coordinate with internal functional counterparts: finance, engineering, supply chain, legal, communications, human resources and contracts to ensure successful program execution to include developing plans and strategies to ensure effective on-time deliverables; sourcing and management of partners; and maximization/alignment of talent to dynamically address program portfolio needs.
Specific responsibilities include:
Provide top-level leadership in development and execution of the program: Long Range Plan, Annual Operating Plan, assigned investment resources
Provide leadership to Programs to ensure contract deliverables are met, customer satisfaction is strong, and overhead costs are minimized.
Employ appropriate Program Management Best Practices and tools.
Represents Portfolio for Strategic Systems at Program Management Reviews, Program Performance Reviews, and other internal/external engagements
Coach, mentor, and provide performance feedback to direct and indirect reports.
Represent the company to the customer, provides program status to customers, gathers "voice of the customer" information and customer assessment data to share with the team for use in solution development.
Build and maintain relationships and networks with other companies and with other RTN businesses as required
Work with Customers to identify areas of program growth
Provide oversight of technical performance measures and performance assessment
Required Qualifications
Minimum 16 years of prior relevant experience in program management
Experience leading Agile, DevSecOps software development programs consisting of multi-discipline personnel
Strong financial acumen including profit/loss experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels, including a matrixed environment
Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate team members and peers
Demonstrated ability to partner in matrixed organizations to ensure successful program execution
Demonstrated ability to lead strategic and tactical initiatives as well as matrixed teams and staff
Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment
Project management skills
U.S. Citizenship
Active Top Secret Clearance
Must obtain conditional Program Management Certification, accordance with RP-248
Required Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with a major in engineering, operations, supply chain, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Desired Skills
Experience in the defense and aerospace sector
Systems Engineering experience
Customer experience with Air Force Space Missile Systems Center.
Experience with Information Assurance (IA) Technology and Government certification
Experience leading geographically dispersed teams
Experience working with subcontractors and/or vendors
Requires advanced business knowledge, general management and leadership capability to lead business or functional teams.
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years experience
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 14 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
The salary range for this role is $149,000.00 to $305,000.00; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
