Navy Project Engineer (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

• This position is specifically for the Maritime Value Stream of the ISRS Defense business unit whose customers include the US Navy, Spanish Navy and other Government Contractors.
• Position is 80% on site with 20% travel to customers and/or vendors.
• Initiate Problem Reports and Change Requests to address engineering drawing issues and support production problem resolution.
• Coordination and driving failure investigation activities as required.
• Driving issue resolution closures due to assembly, test and procurement challenges.
• Perform field service for all programs as required.
• Travel to navy and shipyard Installations to perform field service in a safe and efficient manner following all EH&S guidelines.
• Performs on-site services for Aftermarket clients, installs new equipment and services, maintains / services and upgrades existing equipment
• Become proficient in the operation and troubleshooting of various maritime platforms
• Generate field service reports per the contract guidelines.
• Ability and desire to become and perform export classifications for the program

The candidate will drive the execution of all engineering responsibilities on the program while meeting both internal and external customer expectations.  Direct communication with customers will be required – including daily tag-ups, weekly meetings, and quarterly meetings.  This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), technical experience, and the ability to work as cross-functional team member.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR
• In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
• Prior experience in related Engineering discipline(s).
• Experience with environmental control hardware (e.g. thermal and humidity control, air revitalization, water reclamation etc.)
• Experience supporting assembly and test activities on a diverse set of hardware.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize both daily issues and strategize longer term projects
• Superior interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Strong computer skills, MS Office, Windchill
• Natural presence/comfortable presenting to internal and external customers
• Ability to bring team members together and work problems to resolution
• A desire to lead with the purpose of improving IPD Team performance.
• US Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Clearance

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project

management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires:

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions:

Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
