Sr. Buyer

Role and Responsibility:

• Responsible for the security of the supply chain and the uninterrupted supply of all materials

• Working within the SAO team to procure parts to customer requirements within set timescales

• Liasing with other departments in the business to interpret/understand customer needs

• Providing guidance, training and support for the Buyers as required

• Enforce LTA and SLA contracts to ensure continuation of supply in the event of under-performing suppliers

·Drafting and updating departmental / group procedures, adopting a flexible, continuous improvement approach at all times.

• Providing senior management with timely and accurate data analysis, summarisation and presentation on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

• Improving business processes using CI techniques, to achieve the most efficient use of resources.

• Assisting in the maintenance of a minimal selection of suppliers with whom B/E can adopt a true “partnership sourcing” approach to minimise cost and increase profit throughout the supply chain.

• Monitoring and reporting supplier performance to compliment operational objectives on cost, quality, delivery and inventory.

• Inventory management through scheduling and communication with suppliers, including the use of the Buyer Supplier Portal

• Liaising with Corporate supply chain to ensure that site scorecard metrics are reported in a timely manner. Participating in cross-site project teams to ensure that all supply requirements are considered for the life of the product

• Ensuring that new parts have all necessary supplier, commodity and cost data set up on JDE to allow the Buyers to procure seamlessly as soon as demand hits them.

• Maintaining existing standard costs, monitoring PPV and APV on a daily basis, correcting anomalies with Finance and ensuring alignment with Hyperion.

• Taking appropriate action across the business to ensure that professional Purchasing ethics and practices are being maintained and that business objectives are not being compromised.

Skills

• Have previous experience of working within another fast pace Buying role (essential)

• Analytical by nature and have the ability to interpret data analysis and be comfortable in following procedures and policies (essential)

• Ability to build relationships quickly (essential)

• Possess a Can- Do approach that can independently resolves routine to moderately complex problems (essential)

• Demonstrate methodical thinking (essential)

• Previous experience of managing a high workload; multiple accounts (essential)

• Ability to support junior colleagues when necessary through coaching and mentoring (essential)

• Confident to independently resolve complex issues and perform most sophisticated assignments (essential)

• Comfortable working unsupervised or as part of a wider team (essential)

• Ability to present data as a PowerPoint presentation in on-line meetings (essential)

Education:

• Have a minimum of a GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English Language (essential)

• Competent in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Data bases (essential)

• Ability to work in a high pressurized global environment; working closely with the US, Poland etc (essential)

• Ability to use MS office, general knowledge of ERP systems (JDE/E1 desirable)

Working Hours

• 39 hours per week

• Core hours

-Monday- Friday 9.30am-4.30pm (and making up the extra hours outside these core hours)

-Friday 9.30am- 12 noon (early finish)

This is a hybrid role

Due to the nature of this global support team, there will be a requirement to some out of normally working hour meetings/calls, though the successful applicant will be advised in advance.
