Job Summary:

The Ducommun / DRS Integrated Supplier Team has a high visibility opportunity for a Supplier Program Manager. In this role, you will manage a team comprised of Subcontract Managers and provide oversight of supplier Cost & Performance for specific Ducommun / DRS locations for RMD. Through leadership both internally and externally, you will ensure that captures and proposals meet technical, cost, schedule performance objectives through direct contract negotiations with suppliers and our mission area customers; develop critical senior level relationships internally (Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, Quality, RMD Mission Areas) and at the suppliers senior management levels; and will guide and drive critical choices that heavily contribute to RMDs financial performance and bottom line. You will navigate Supplier Statement of Work/Specification changes and mitigate Cost Growth & Schedule Impacts. You will work with Ducommun / DRS to identify capacity and manufacturing improvements including supplier investment to position both Ducommun / DRS and RMD for success.

Working with the Associate Director, you will be responsible for a portion of the approximately $350M in Ducommun / DRS contracts and over $100M in 2022 material sales with a direct impact to RMDs financial profit and loss bottom line. Financial impacts across the portfolio effect over 40 development and production programs across all the RMD mission areas.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Manage the placement, execution of compliant purchase orders
  • Drive supplier performance in cost & schedule
  • Lead formal negotiations for both product cost and standard terms and conditions of sales as required
  • Ability to prepare and present status at leadership meetings and reviews
  • Develop complex strategic sourcing and pricing agreements
  • Develop and manage risk and opportunities
  • Occasional travel – less than 40%

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • BS/BA degree plus a minimum of 10 years of experience within aspects of supply chain, material management, operations and/or program management OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience within aspects of supply chain, material management, operations and/or program management
  • Experience with program management practices such as development lifecycle, statement of work generation, risk management, action item management, requirement change management, Earned Value planning/tracking/reporting, metrics management, and/or subcontract management
  • Experience with financial impact of conclusions on the organization’s budget and the program such as managing cost, schedule and/or performance
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

  • Advanced degree in engineering, supply chain, business, finance, or related field
  • Six or more years of experience developing and managing supplier base
  • Experience supporting product life cycle including development, production and sustainment
  • Guidance and influencing across the business while promoting a collaborative diverse and inclusive work environment
  • Procurement/Acquisition compliance, FAR/DFAR and/or other regulatory requirements
  • Experience with schedule and metrics creation, maintenance, forecasting, and evaluation experience
