sing and other data sources (i.e., American Community Survey)to identify emerging trends, changes, and insights about the American real estate market

• Translate complex data into clear, engaging articles and visualizations that inform our readers

• Collaborate with our editorial team to brainstorm story ideas and improve our coverage and reporting

• Stay up-to-date on the latest housing market dynamics, including home prices, mortgage rates, inventory levels, and more

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience as a data journalist or in a similar role

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• Strong data analysis skills and experience working with tools like Python, SQL, Snowflake, Datawrapper, Tableau and ArcGIS

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to translate technical information for a general and specialist audience

• Passion for the real estate industry and a knack for spotting important trends and insights

• Creativity and problem-solving skills to develop innovative ways to cover the housing market

• Collaborative spirit and willingness to work closely with our editorial and product/development teams

This is a full-time, hybrid position that requires the successful candidate to be in office at our Austin or New York City locations three days a week.
