Who are we?

SOLitude Lake Management – a proud member of the Rentokil family of companies - provides aquatic management services to lakes, ponds, reservoirs, and wetlands. SOLitude offers a wide variety of services including fishery programs, algae and aquatic weed control, mechanical harvesting/hydro-raking, installation/maintenance of fountains and aeration systems, and water quality testing. 

Responsibilities

What do our Seasonal Mechanical Specialist do? 

Our Seasonal Mechanical Specialists primary responsibilities is to participate in on-water physical and mechanical management of aquatic vegetation in a manner that meets company/client expectations and regulatory compliance.  This team member fosters the SOLitude culture, value, and service performance standards.  The seasonal invasive species laborers main focus will be removing the invasive species Water Chestnut from designated water bodies. This will mainly be performed by hand harvesting, or used of the aquatic weed harvester.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to; 

• Aid in the mobilization/demobilization of all equipment
• Assist in the staging of environmental control measures per permit requirements
• Operate SOLitude machinery effectively – primarily small watercraft and aquatic weed harvester.
• Log all appropriate information regarding mechanical projects in log book – date, project, material collected, loads, etc.
• Discuss project successes/failures with Project Coordinator for future planning
• Support the Mechanical Division with maintaining/fixing equipment in a group setting
• Log all work performed on mechanical machinery in the affiliated log book
• Collect and return all company receipts in an organized fashion
• Travel and lodge at various locations, project specific

What do you need?

• Minimum - High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in the mechanical and/or environmental field preferred
• Valid Driver's license
• Comfortable around water and on-water equipment
• Ability to swim
• Ability to follow established procedures and practices
• Commitment to all health and safety guidelines
• Effective verbal and listening communication skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to travel with overnight stay as needed
• The work requires strenuous physical exertion and the employee may be required to drive, stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel and crouch for extended periods of time, as well as see, talk, hear and use hands and arms to grasp, handle, reach and feel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass pre-employment background screen 
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass motor vehicle record search
