    Position summary

    Robert Half is seeking a External Reporting Analyst to join the External Reporting team. This team prepares the Robert Half's consolidated financial reports which are filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including Forms 8-K, 10-Q, and 10-K. This group also prepares and analyzes consolidated monthly and ad-hoc reports for senior management, providing explanations as needed for significant fluctuations in periodic results. In addition, this team is a key interface with our external auditors with respect to financial presentations in our quarterly and annual filings.
     

    Specific responsibilities include:

    • Participates in preparation of draft quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 8-K, 10-Q, and 10-K, including presentation of all Financial Statements, Footnotes, and drafting of Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) for manager review.
    • Responsible for compliance with XBRL, including data tagging and custom tag definition as required.
    • Performs GAAP and SEC technical research under guidance of manager and communicates findings and recommendations through drafting memos as required. 
    • Participates in assessing impact of new accounting pronouncements on company's financial statements.
    • Participates in creating and maintaining monthly reporting package for RHI and Protiviti senior management.
    • Understands reports included in the reporting package, maintains reports, verifies accuracy of reports, evaluates and documents fluctuations for management review.  Package includes complex reports such as statement of cash flows, MKW Reporting Package, and constant currency reporting. 
    • Pursuant to distribution of this reporting the analyst interacts directly with Director, Sr. Director and VP levels as part of the quarterly reporting process to answer questions and provide variance explanations.
    • Maintain the external reporting process maps. Primary external/internal auditor contact for external reporting process maps.
    • Produces complex PowerPoint slides which contain quarterly and annual financial results and are included in executive presentations to external investment institutions. 
    • Reviews and provides comments on internal presentations prepared by other departments to validate numbers are consistent with those provided externally.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
    • CPA strongly preferred.
    • 3+ years public accounting, 5+ years accounting/financial analysis experience, 2+ yrs SEC reporting experience.
    • Thorough understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
    • MS Office, including advanced skills in Excel.
    • Financial ERP experience (PeopleSoft preferred).
    • Experience with business intelligence tools.
    • Strong planning, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills.
    • Highly effective written and communication capabilities with all levels of management and staff.
    • Proven ability to work independently and meet strict reporting deadlines.

    The typical salary range for this position is $73,000 to $108,000. The salary is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus
