About the team

The Roku Global Safety & Security team is an enterprise function, focused on enabling the business and keeping our workforce safe and secure. We are a multi-disciplinary, diverse, global team, that is integrated into all segments of the corporation.

About the role

The Roku Global Safety & Security (GSS) team is scaling its 24/7 risk monitoring, mitigation, and response capabilities and needs a strong, experienced leader to help build and manage a world-class Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) at our San Jose, CA campus.

We’re seeking a senior-level risk professional who excels in people, vendor, and technology management, and who will thrive in an exciting, technology-driven environments. The GSOC will function as the cornerstone for GSS; all business-facing security needs will funnel through it. Therefore, candidates must be able to understand Roku’s current risk exposure, aptly envision and plan for the risks ahead; be able to create a program that provides value to the business, execute on a strategic vision and be willing to continuously pressure test, assess, and evolve the program to meet the ever-changing threat landscape.

What You’ll Be Doing

Management & Partnerships

  • Be able to manage diverse teams, be a good teacher, and able to articulate clear requirements
  • Excel at managing multiple priorities and escalating significant issues to senior-level management as necessary, while providing reasonable solution options
  • Seek authentic partnerships throughout the business, and with critical vendors
  • Leveraging GSS vendors and government partners to collaborate with Trust + Engineering to provide monitoring, response, and investigative support

Technology

  • Identify new technologies and business processes to improve overall GSOC efficiency
  • Manage operational implementation of technology and process changes in accordance with approved change management plans
  • Develop technology platforms and to create an integrated common operating picture for the business to provide global situational awareness
  • Assist Security operations with security systems technology integration, design, and implementation
  • Be able to develop + implement GSOC technology capabilities, optimizing security preparedness, incident reporting, risk monitoring, travel safety, and emergency response

Business Analysis and Program Development

  • Have experience assessing the needs of the business and in providing timely, executive-level briefings
  • Serve as a senior-level contributor to strategic discussions about the direction of the global program and programmatic evolutions that expand and improve GSOC services and customer experience
  • Oversee the GSOC to ensure coordination with interdepartmental business partners globally to provide intelligence, coordination, and communications on security-related matters
  • Contribute to the development and/or maintenance of policies and procedures impacting GSOC efficacy
  • Support the development of enterprise security services such as crisis management, workplace violence, travel security, special crimes, and security awareness training
  • Create clear governance/playbooks and escalation procedures and pressure-test for compliance
  • Value metrics and analytics. Develop a metrics dashboard that articulates appropriate return-on-investment
  • Remain up to date on emerging security trends that may impact the company
  • Understand tactical/actionable intelligence and the value it brings to risk management

We’re Excited If You Have

  • A Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree and/or relevant certifications a plus
  • A passion for customer service
  • Experience overseeing and/or developing a GSOC for a multinational organization required
  • Expertise in a physical security role (corporate security, security operations, intelligence, military, law enforcement)
  • Comfort leaning into risk without sacrificing effective security response
  • The ability to work independently and drive results in a nimble environment
  • Excellent oral communications skills, with proven comfort engaging directly with client and other customers
  • Excellent written communications skills, to include editing final products for business leader and diverse stakeholder consumption
  • The ability to manage diverse teams, be a good teacher, and able to articulate clear requirements
  • Experience assessing the needs of the business and in providing timely, executive-level briefings
  • Skills to develop + implement GSOC technology capabilities, optimizing security preparedness, incident reporting, risk monitoring, travel safety, and emergency response
  • An understanding of tactical/actionable intelligence and the value it brings to risk management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and escalate significant issues to senior-level management as necessary, while being able to provide reasonable solutions
  • The ability to forge authentic partnerships throughout the business, and with critical vendors
  • Demonstrated comfort with technology, with ability to quickly navigate and oversee the use of multiple systems and applications
