Our mission is to be the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem. We connect consumers to the content they love, enable content publishers to build and monetize large audiences, and provide advertisers unique capabilities to engage consumers.

From your first day at Roku, you’ll make a valuable, and valued contribution. We’re a fast-growing public company where no one is a bystander. We offer you the opportunity to delight millions of TV streamers worldwide while gaining meaningful experience across various disciplines.

About the role

Roku is looking for a skilled FP&A Manager to join the Account Acquisition FP&A team. Supporting Roku’s Player and Audio business units, this role will be a direct business partner to the Sales and Product orgs and play a critical role in providing leadership with analytical and operational support. As a trusted partner to both the business and the head of Player/Audio FP&A, the person in this role will have an outsized impact on mission critical deliverables and analyses.

Critical to success in this role is the ability to balance competing priorities, navigate a fluid and ambiguous environment and drive projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will possess a strong quantitative background and analytical mindset, advanced modeling abilities and be able to collaborate effectively with team members and key stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization.

The job provides the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of retail sales, product strategy and user acquisition in the streaming industry. This is an individual contributor role and will be based out of Roku’s San Jose HQ.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own the monthly unit sales forecast process, partnering with the Sales Operations team to project sales volumes across all retail products, channels and countries
  • Drive annual and long-range planning with Sales/Sales Ops to project unit volumes, leveraging both tops-down and bottoms-up methodologies and striking the right balance between precision and speed of actionable insights
  • Manage consolidation of the global Player and Audio business unit P&Ls, analyzing key trends and surfacing relevant and digestible business insight
  • Provide analytical support and monitor key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of changes. Conduct deep dives when observing abnormal trends
  • Own the creation and publication of various reporting packages to facilitate monthly forecast and business reviews
  • Develop robust models to support ad-hoc analysis

We’re excited if you have

  • 6+ years of FP&A experience, in a high growth consumer electronics, e-commerce, or retail company
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related subject; MBA or CFA preferred
  • Extensive experience building/maintaining complex financial models that are scalable and intuitive; expert level proficiency with excel
  • Talent for synthesizing complex ideas and communicating them in ways others can easily understand; ability to clearly and concisely present issues, ideas and recommendations in verbal, written and presentation formats to senior executives
  • Ability to navigate a complex & matrixed corporate environment while juggling multiple responsibilities. A positive, can-do attitude & collaborative mindset is essential
  • Equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds and work at the lowest level of detail, but you’re just as comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team. No job is too small
  • Ability to thrive in high-performance cultures, handle stress well, and aren’t afraid of long hours in pursuit of meaningful work
  • Unafraid of ambiguity. Rapid change and learning excite you, and you know how to find direction and craft a plan of action even when none is given
  • Strong problem structuring skills with a proficiency in hypothesis-based problem solving
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US-GAAP
  • Background in tech and/or media industries preferred
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Curious; a constant learner with a relentless drive to acquire knowledge and new skill sets
  • Adaptive, and NetSuite experience a plus

The Roku culture

Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company’s success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humor. We believe a fewer number of very talented folks can do more for less cost than a larger number of less talented teams. We’re independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. In short, at Roku you’ll be part of a company that’s changing how the world watches TV.

We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem-solvers, which itself is a two-part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn’t real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.
