Position summary
The Role
Roku is seeking Quality Assurance Engineer to test software for the next generation of smart TV products. You will be responsible for testing software for formal release and validating the customized firmware. This position requires the ability of quick learning and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Execute test cases and test plans.
- Run automation tests to reproduce known issues and validate functionality
- Reproduce, isolate, and debug issues using a variety of hands-on testing techniques, providing detailed bug reports.
- Record all test results for each test suite and provide a high level summary for areas tested
- Sort out defects reported from TV partners, suggest the defect severity and urgency with good knowledge of user cases.
- Refine and develop test plans for new products/features and ensure adequate test coverage.
Experience/Qualifications
- 0 - 3 years of experience in writing and executing QA test plans for STB/DTV
- Have Linux command line knowledge
- Python or other programming experience is a plus
- Knowledge of media formats/streaming preferred
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
