About the role

We are looking for a talented engineer with a passion for QA to join our Client Development Team working on Ads and Commerce experiences. This person will help build a robust and exhaustive test process working closely with Engineering and Product Management to help ensure we deliver flawless products consistently. You should have an attention for detail, able to confidently represent concerns in meetings with cross-functional team members and provide valuable end-user feedback to improve the customer experience. You have a solid understanding of the software life cycle, experience with a variety of testing techniques, especially around end to end testing of an ad platform, and strong written and organizational skills.

What you’ll be doing

• Review product specifications and develop test plans for new products/features built by Roku OS Client Ads Engineering
• Develop Test Cases for SDK APIs by building and managing test applications
• Interface with beta users and triage bugs
• Ensure Comprehensive & automated test suites built to focus on all Ads and privacy related scenarios for every Major/Minor release of Roku OS and Plugins
• Work with the Ad Operations and QA teams to manage and ensure all test scenarios are setup properly for any end to end tests
• Reproduce, isolate, and debug issues, providing detailed bug reports
• Test integration of SDKs with publisher partners
• Record all test results for each test suite and provide a high-level summary for areas tested

We’re excited if you have

• You are passionate about quality and quality-focused technologies for both software and data.
• You have high level knowledge of ad server technology (e.g., DFP, Freewheel, DFA, TTD), campaign management platforms, economics of digital advertising and ad reporting tools
• Knowledge of streaming protocols (DASH, HLS) and testing Live, VOD, DVR streaming
• You have experience developing Test Automation frameworks and automated tests using a scripting language such as Python
• You are proficient in at least one Object-oriented language such as Java or C++.
• You have 3+ years of experience writing and executing QA test plans for consumer electronics products (preferred) or enterprise products, with a focus on digital advertising
• You have hands-on experience with manual/black box testing
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Your ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Your ability to work independently and be self-directed
• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent desirable
