    Job Summary**:**

    The System of Systems Modeling and Architecture Directorate performs customer focused operational analysis,-  simulation and architecture development activities within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD).  Supporting this mission are teams driving flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics and operations), developing tools and methods to evaluate system level studies and visualization based on customer requirements.  The team welcomes you to join our tradition of excellence through innovation and teamwork while valuing diversity in a flexible work environment to meet the needs of today’s workforce.

    Join this highly visible team and perform highly technical assignments, directly contributing to protecting our nation and our war fighters.  Specifically, we are looking for a Section Leader for the Architecture Section in the Advanced Capabilities and Architecture (ACA) Department.  The applicant for this position would have team leadership responsibilities above the typical normal technical work. This Department’s goal is to produce credible analytic materials and advanced tools and methodologies to support, drive, and enable key business captures, current programs, special projects, and corporation-wide business opportunities. Section Leaders provide guidance and management to a team of approximately 10 Engineers

    Responsibilities to Anticipate:

    • You will lead a team of Certified Architects and Architect Apprentices to realize SoS Architecture team objectives
      • Become the “go-to” source for SoS Architecture expertise
      • Architect winning SoS solutions across complex technical domains
      • Develop architecture methods and tools for SoS
      • Grow an Architect pipeline specializing in SoS
    • You will execute a portfolio of project work, as a Raytheon Certified Architect
    • You will provide guidance, direction, mentoring and influencing skills, and foster teamwork, interdependent execution, and growth for approximately 10 – 15 Engineers
    • You will participate in talent acquisition, goal setting, performance development, and appraisal for your team
    • You will ensure each direct report has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and career advancement
    • You will collaborate with Capture Teams, Technology Directors and Mission Area, Engineering and Business Development leaders to improve proposal outcomes.
    • You will collaborate with the Advanced Capabilities and Architecture (ACA) Department Manager and SoS Modeling & Architecture (SMA) Director to employ SoSA team capabilities into the SMA operating model.
    • You will travel as required – anticipated 10-25% to various sites.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Raytheon Certified Architect (or equivalent) is required
    • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: (An Advanced Degree in a related field can satisfy up to 3 years of experience)
    • With the Bachelor’s Degree above, typically requires ten (10) years of documented professional experience in one or more of the following technical domains:
      • Systems engineering, architecture, and/or design
      • System performance and/or Mission Planning analysis
      • Algorithms and signal processing
      • Modeling and simulation (for example 6-DOF)
      • Software architecture, design, development, integration, and verification
    • Demonstrated work experience with Raytheon Enterprise Architecture Process (or equivalent), Dept of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), and Architecture Planning.
    • Must have three (3+) years of documented work experience in at least one of the following RMD Mission areas:
      • Land Warfare and Air Defense, Naval Power, Air Power, Strategic Missile Defense, or Advanced Technology
    • Must have at least two (2+) year experience working technical solutions in capture phases Gates 0-4 (strategy through proposal).
    • US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Qualifications We Value:

    • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related discipline
    • Previous management experience in the following:
      • Developing and mentoring new employees
      • Communicating with different levels of employees, departments, and/or customers
      • A leadership role within a RMD department and/or function
      • Team building
      • Interviewing and hiring new employees
    • SysML experience and Cameo modeling experience a plus
    • Experience in Military CONOPs
    • Existing TS/SCI security clearance, or past qualification for this clearance
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with subordinates, customers, and senior managers throughout the company’s organizations
    • Strong mentoring skills, both technically and professionally
    • Experience and knowledge of the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS), Proposals and Basis of Estimates (BOEs)

    Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams.

    Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience

    Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
