The Additive Aero-Thermal Engineer will advance additive manufactured materials technology with a focus on heat exchangers. Additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, is an emerging technology that enables innovative designs and approaches to thermal management solutions for engine and airframe applications. The materials and complex geometries are not yet well defined, so a significant effort is required to fully characterize the heat exchanger performance. The efforts and decisions by the Aerothermal engineer will shape the future state of additive heat exchangers used for aerospace applications.
The Engineer, Aero-Thermal Engineering will work with an integrated design team of project engineering, manufacturing, structures, purchasing and other product functions. In this team, the Aero/Thermal Engineer will collaborate with the team to generate designs/components that meet the internal and external customers’ needs and requirements. You will communicate throughout the development stage to management and the customer on the design, progress, and how it complies with the requirements.
