    The GSE Technology Team's role is to identify, develop, and deploy aftermarket technology that supports Pratt & Whitney's Commercial and Military Engine aftermarket businesses.  Customers are the Business Units and Engine Centers in the United States and worldwide that comprise Aftermarket Operations (AMO) as well as our military engine customers who support the sustainment operations for the US military services worldwide.  It conducts studies, benchmarks competitors and develops the technologies that benefit our repair centers by filling the technical gaps that permit us to be first to market with game changing repair processes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assembling and managing international teams of P&W and external partner engineers
    • Developing or adapting new technology for the growing aftermarket business. Manage specific technology programs to schedule and budget
    • Assist Repair Process Support (RPS), Technology Transition, and Digital Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (DMRO) achieve their improvement goals.  Ensure Technology Development Plans (TDPs) have appropriate balance of affordability and risk with respect to TRL validation requirements.

    Basic Requirements

    • B.S. Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering or related experience.
    • 8 years related experience or 5 years with an Advanced degree
    • Us citizenship required due to program requirements

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Training in Project Management or relevant experience.

    Desired Technical Proficiencies:

    • Working knowledge of engine component and system design
    • Technology/manufacturing development process
    • Manufacturing and Repair Processes including; dimensional restoration, crack repair, surface treatment, clean and strip, Conventional Machining Heat Treating, Polymer Repair, coating/Re-coat, metrology, welding & joining, tooling, Disassembly / Assembly & Test.
    • Inspection Technologies, Automation / Robotics, industrialization
    • FMEA process for Production

    Non-Destructive Technology methods

    • Nickel, Titanium, or Aluminum metallurgy
    • Demonstrated knowledge of microstructure-processing-property relationships
    • GD&T geometric, dimensional & tolerance drawing interpretation skills
    • Familiarity with tactile probes, non-contact laser & vision & optical systems a plus
    • Familiarity with inspection systems
    • Generalist background with ability to make connections and integrate multiple technologies into specific applications
