Job Description

The Development Operations organization of Pratt & Whitney is looking for an Assembly Process Engineer responsible for creating and maintaining assembly work instructions, improving assembly processes per lessons learned, troubleshooting engine assembly issues, and mentoring other Process Engineers.

The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and team skills as well as an ability to multi-task and adapt to changing business requirements. The candidate should also show an interest in developing and implementing new technologies and lean manufacturing techniques into the assembly processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create and approve jet engine assembly procedures per engineering requirements and Engine Development Plans
• Support the Assembly Floor through ownership of assembly instructions and troubleshooting of issues in coordination with Operations and Engineering disciplines
• Develop, implement, and validate robust new processes to ensure production readiness
• Grow technical proficiency while mentoring peers to improve their own proficiencies in areas including engine hardware and assembly methods and equipment
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts (QCPC, PITS, DIVEs, etc.) to improve safety and efficiency in assembly activities

Basic Qualifications:

• A Bachelors Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Planner Approver (PL2) proficiency level/qualification OR close to achieving Planner Approver
• Current Security clearance
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Familiarity with Process Certification as well as jet engine balance process

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility
