    Job Summary:

    The Airframes, Radar Structures & Advanced Materials (ASM) is responsible to support the production and development of engineering subsystems used in our Land and Naval based programs. To support these programs, The ASM is looking to hire a Chief Engineer to lead the Coyote Rapid Development Program (CRDP). Some of these efforts include the UAS, Counter UAS, and other Army Science and Technology (S&T) efforts. The Chief Engineer will lead in the management of the cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk aspects for a portfolio of development and production programs. The Chief Engineer will help deliver on Raytheon brand name technical commitments, delivered hardware performance, financial commitments to the business, and grow the program to increase long range plan value for the mission area.   This Chief Engineer position will interface across all Engineering Directorates and candidates of all Engineering disciplines will be considered in fulfilling the responsibilities to ASM and alignment to the RMD Office of the Chief Engineer.

    Responsibilities to Anticipate:

    • Establish and manage a product vision, strategy, and goals to align with multiple Programs/Customers and facilitate conflict resolution.
    • Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the IPT and other functions to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
    • Primary technical point of contact with senior customer counterparts, internal senior program management and engineering leadership.
    • Support the capture of new business and influence technical and product line roadmaps, ensuring they are reflected in program planning and execution
    • Plan out and lead the incremental break-in of upgrades and system improvements
    • Drive positive change within the production environment as a key stakeholder in Failure Review Boards, FRACAS activities and other continuous improvement efforts
    • Technically engage with major subcontractors and partners to ensure product deliverables
    • Direct a team of multi-disciplined engineers in support of system development, integration, and checkout
    • Support the transition to production (TTP) of selected systems
    • Provide technical advisory disposition for Export / Import (EXIM) compliance.
    • Identify key staffing needs and gaps and resolve them by working in collaboration with functional Engineering Leadership
    • Mentorship and Development of your engineering teams

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) or other related field
    • 12 years of engineering experience including prior experience in a technical leadership role and experience across the development engineering lifecycle; 9 years with an advance degree.
    • Prior experience with leading and conducting missile trade studies, missile system development and design, missile systems requirements development and management, missile production, and missile system integration and test
    • Experience leading engineering teams
    • Direct experience managing any resources such as multi-million-dollar annual budgets including the Earned Value Management System (EVMS level 2), Estimates at Completion (EACs) and Estimates to Complete (ETCs)
    • Demonstrated experience in transition to production, Technical Data Package development, qualification of hardware, and configuration management of TDP.
    • An active and in-scope secret US security clearance

    Qualifications We Value:

    • Currently are formally leveled within the Office of the Chief Engineer

    • Proven abilities as a technical leader who can develop work plans and drive execution

    • Demonstrated experience in strategic development, customer interface, or contract capture in the Defense Industry

    • Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills

    • Experience in leading and executing the design and development of complex system architectures

    • Demonstrated experience across the product lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, design, integration, verification, and production

    • Demonstrated experience and ability to interact with and influence Department of Defense (DoD), and/or commercial and non-traditional customer sets

    • Proven ability to develop effective internal and external customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and continued business

    • Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management

    • Demonstrated experience with globally distributed engineering execution organizations (CONUS and OCONUS)

    • Direct experience with International FMS programs and International Supplier’s/Partner’s engineering execution
