Summary of Role:

Join a team of build and integration technologists focused on the execution of RTX's strategy of Datacenter optimization/consolidations across the enterprise.  Candidate is required to have excellent technical and communication skills to develop solutions for the company’s data centers – including private cloud, hosting optimization, and datacenter consolidation.  This position will play a critical role on the Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead functional teams to design data center solutions including; Windows, UNIX/Linux, Storage, Compute, Backup, Power, Cooling, Availability, Security, & Performance

  • Translate business requirements into functional requirement for solutioning while meeting regulations, controls, policies, and legal requirements

  • Ensure cost effective design, build, and integration of technical solutions as the company executes the near and long term Data Center/Hosting and Cloud strategy.

  • Deliver continual service improvements to improve effectiveness and efficiency of service through tools & automation​

  • Evaluate datacenter tools and processes to design solutions that improve efficiency and enhance the user experience

  • Design with hardware and software lifecycle in alignment with infrastructure strategic goals

  • Support business cases that include estimated change costs, impact assessments, and business benefit for Datacenters

  • Facilitate the development of release plans, playbook, and transition to Data Center operations 

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Experience with design, build, secure and operationalize scalable hosting solutions for multi-tenant data centers Globally.

  • Advanced knowledge of data center technology components, including facilities, server virtualization, storage optimization, network distribution, hybrid cloud, edge computing, high availability, redundancy, and automation

  • Experience with planning, managing, and provisioning datacenter standards and architecture

  • Proven experience in developing transition plans and decommissioning / transitioning data centers

  • Advanced knowledge of architecture, design, compliance, and ability to translate business requirements to functional specifications; ITIL

  • Demonstrated technical leadership with proficiency in setting priorities, driving solution adoption, and partnering with supplier to create innovative solutions for data center services

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to debate, dialogue, negotiate, influence and work with others collaboratively and constructively

Education:  Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 8 years experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SNIA certifications or vendor specific storage certifications

  • Certified solutions architect

Location:  Remote Work Available, Future Travel 10%
