Mission Systems Product Enabling Technology provides a wide variety of advanced technologies that serve the war fighter and enhance mission readiness. Join our team as a department leader focused on providing FPGA, ASIC, and low level software/embedded operating system software to businesses throughout Collins Aerospace Missions Systems. This department develops designs for control, signal processing, and platform logic, device driver software, and Linux based embedded operating systems. This role requires technical knowledge and execution leadership for full portfolio of Mission Systems products. Strong collaboration skills and a broad technical and management skill set is required.
Applies scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements, and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions. Ensures novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP processes and tools.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Researches, develops, designs, and tests embedded logic and SW. Designs FPGA/ASIC and low level/ embedded operating system software solutions for electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. Produces products according to specifications, using the most cost effective and efficient means. Analyzes and evaluates new or improved electronic components. Includes circuit theory, computer design and development, instrumentation, radio communications, semiconductor devices, and solid state devices.

Manages a department that includes multiple teams led by managers and/or supervisors in Electronics and Software Engineering. Liaises with stakeholders, oversees project management, analyzes system requirements, recommends improvement plans, and provides technical leadership and mentoring.
Oversees teams with focus on policy and establishes leadership and managerial direction for electrical and electronic and software engineering activities to achieve and maintain organization's objectives.
Liaises and communicates with engineers, other departments, divisions, consultants, customers, vendors or others to discuss existing and potential engineering projects or products.
Establishes policies and processes and oversees the mentoring and coordination of and provides technical leadership for the Electronics and Software Engineering function to increase its effectiveness and achieve and maintain business objectives.
Establishes policies and processes and defines methods for identification of risk within business and recommends improvement plans to control risk.
Oversees project management, capital planning and project execution to achieve and maintain that projects are completed on-time, within budget, and as per the set goals.
Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required

Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
