    Raytheon Technologies is seeking an Associate Director, Mission Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) to join a state-of-the-art space sensor program that supports complex algorithms on a space vehicle with hardware and software for the ground segment.

    The Associate Director, Mission Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) is responsible for development of the CONOPS to calibrate, test, and operate the system.

    Role and Responsibilities to include:

    • Technical direction and oversight of the entire program product life cycle

    • Work with the Chief Engineer, program office, customers and other external entities related to the program

    • Ensure technical requirements are appropriately defined and allocated across ground, space vehicle, mission payload hardware, software, firmware, and algorithms

    - Develop CONOPS to calibrate, test, and operate the system

    • Establish and manage a product vision, strategy and goals to align the program with the Customer and facilitate conflict resolution guidelines

    • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal oversight

    • Serve as a voting member on multiple Mission Level Boards

    • Maintain the program technical baseline while ensuring product optimization that meets the contractual needs

    • Ensure effective use of independent reviews and achieve on-time completion of all Program Engineering reviews

    • Provide cross-IPT technical direction and coordination

    - Encourage a diverse workforce by promoting diverse opinions

    • Ensure Engineering leads assigned to program are engaged in all aspects of their program

    Clearance Requirements:
    An Active and In-Scope Top Secret (TS) U.S. Security Clearance

    Required Skills:

    • 12+ years engineering experience with at least 5 years focused on space programs

    • Mission Prime level systems engineering experience working on an EO/IR space mission program

    • Experienced presenter with prior responsibility for dealing with customers, stakeholders, technical staff, internal and external to the organizations

    • Demonstrated responsibility prioritizing work tasks and customer requirements across multiple teams

    - Excellent team development and motivational skills in disciplined engineering processes

    • Demonstrated leadership skills and behaviors

    • Experience with risk, opportunity, and scope management

    - Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills

    Desired Skills:

    • Experience in system engineering process development and deployment

    • Experience in systems engineering functions (e.g., operations concept development, requirements management, technical risk management, interface definition and control)

    • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

    • Experience with system or subsystem level Integration, Verification and Validation (IV V)

    • Knowledge of environmental test methods and practices (e.g., Dynamic, Vibration, EMI, Thermal Vacuum)

    • Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) or line engineering management experience

    Required Education and Experience:
    Typically requires a degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of related work experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

    Requires significant knowledge of multiple work areas typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

    Significant knowledge of market with the ability to identify best practices and how to best utilize them

    The salary range for this role is 152,000 USD - 304,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
