Associate Software Engineer - Simulation

This software engineering position is within the Simulation, Solutions and Services (SS&S) business area. SS&S develops and builds air and ground vehicle, flight and maintenance training simulators for military and commercial customers. Devices range in complexity from desktop training all the way up to high fidelity weapon systems and full-flight training systems including full visual, motion and simulator interoperability.

We are seeking a candidate to assist with the design, documentation, development, debug and test of real time software for Instructional Systems such as Instructor Operator Stations, Training Management and After Action Review as well as Mission Planning applications. Additionally, Vehicle Systems such as Aero/Ground Dynamics, Propulsion, Electrical, Hydraulics, Fuel, Auto Flight and Motion Cueing are developed.

Primary Responsibilities:

•Assist with the design, development, implementation, testing and debugging of real time software applications and associated user interfaces

•Contribute to engineering design documentation

•Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with peers and management

•Perform in cross-functional team efforts in integration, verification and validation for products and sub-systems

•Contribute to software engineering requirements capture, analysis and creation for well-defined software designs

•Support and enhance existing software products as necessary

•Experience with developing applications in Linux/Windows environments; programming experience with .NET, WPF, C#, C++, Visual Studio

•Strong written and oral communication skills

Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience OR

•In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

•Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

•Must be a U.S. Citizen

•Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

•Must have previous experience with C, C++, or C#

Preferred Qualifications:

•Active DoD security clearance

•Familiar with Windows/Linux development

•Scripting Languages Knowledge (Python, Perl, etc.)

•Experience with DevSecOps

•Experience with Graphical User Interface (GUI) design/implementation
