The Raytheon Technologies(RTX) Advanced Smart Digital Factory and Automation team is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated team member to take on the role of Automation Systems Engineer in support of RTX Forest Consolidated Manufacturing Centers.
This position will be responsible for executing automation projects within the Forest factory. The Automation Systems Engineer will work for the Forest Automation Systems Engineering Manager, and will collaborate with local factory leadership, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, operations, supply chain, and front end of the business automation lead to execute automation development and deployment and incorporate advanced Smart Factory/Industry https://4.0 technologies as well as identify opportunities for process improvements via lean techniques.
Basic Required Qualifications:
•1+ years professional experience with applicable BS degree as it relates to engineering, manufacturing, operations and/or automation. If no degree 5+ years of applicable experience is required. If applicable AS Degree, 3 + years is required to be considered.
•The ability to obtain and maintain a https://U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required.
• https://U.S. citizenship is required, as only https://U.S. citizens are eligible for a Secret security clearance
• Experience in automation systems design, development, deployment, validation and/or sustainment in a factory setting.
•Experience with automation systems (torque controllers, robots, vision systems, PLCs, etc.)
•Experience with process integration and electromechanical / mechatronic systems
•Experience in mechanical and/or electrical design, computer vision, artificial intelligence, or other related field.
•Experience with CAD (Solidworks, Pro E, CREO, AutoCAD electrical, etc.)
Qualifications we Prefer:
•Current and/or active existing Secret Security Clearance
•Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls and software engineering terms and principals
•Strong understanding of automation programming environments
•Knowledge of Electrical Standards (NFPA79, National Electric code, UL508A).
•Strong understanding of automation programming environments
•Knowledge of Safety standards (ANSI/https://RIA15.06, OSHA).
Proven leadership, problem solving and team building skills
•Proven strong analytical and organizational skills
•Strong interpersonal communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills with the ability to interact positively and collaboratively with others at all levels of the organization
•Sense of business urgency and drive
•Ability to prioritize during haze of confusion and/or conflicting goals
• Excellent time & task management skills
•Ability to lead/manage engineers an technical trades on project teams
•Ability to demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Proven leadership skills, especially in managing dotted line relationships across multiple disciplines
•Demonstrated technical background with an understanding or hands-on experience in software, firmware, and electronics development
•Continuous improvement/growth, quality, and analytical mindset
•First-hand experience from driving Change Management projects and track record of being able to deliver results
•Experience working in Agile teams
•Experience working in SAP Manufacturing Execution Systems
•Familiarity with Industry https://4.0 / Smart Factory concepts, Digital Manufacturing Simulation
•Ability to obtain an SSBI clearance, or candidate holds active SSBI
Required Education:
Typically requires: An appliable University Degree (STEM) in Science, Math, Technology or Engineering or equivalent experience and minimum 1 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field. (Or satisfactory combination of education and work experience in lieu of degree)
