Position Scope and Charter:

Vertex Professional Services (VPS) is looking for part-time/on-call Automotive Instructors to facilitate on-site instructor led training courses to medium/heavy truck sales personnel and service technicians in a customer setting. This individual must be highly motivated, willing to accept new challenges, and be able to complete tasks with minimal direction, including independent study, to stay current with technology.

The ideal candidate will have previous dealership and or independent/aftermarket service center and instructor/facilitator experience.

It is important to note that this position:

• Is part-time/casual (there is no guarantee of minimum work hours)
• Requires up to 80% travel to various locations
• Is a short-term position, approximately one year.
• Supports the CDL driver with trailer and equipment set-up, prior to the training event.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of two years automotive and or medium/heavy truck technician experience
• Minimum of two years of automotive and or medium/heavy truck sales experience
• Strong knowledge of intricate automotive and medium/heavy truck systems
• Demonstrated ability to work skillfully with diagnostic equipment, including electric vehicle charging systems, scan tools, lab scopes, DVOMs, air conditioning recycling equipment, etc.
• Ability to work well with both customers and co-workers in a team environment
• Intermediate computer skills, including the use of the internet, Microsoft Office products and email
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations and work environments
• Must have excellent time management and organizational skills

Desired Skills:

• Two years automotive and or medium/heavy truck instructor experience
• Previous dealership and or aftermarket service repair center and sales department experience
• Current ASE Certified Master Technician (auto and or MD truck) or Current ASE Certified in School Bus (S1 – S7)
• Electric vehicle experience (light and heavy truck)
• Hybrid vehicle system experience

This position requires a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
