Job Summary:
This is a Powerhouse Technician Labor Grade 87 Position
This is on a Weekend Shift on night shift ( Friday -Sunday) 7:00pm-7:00am
Key Responsibilities:
Comply with safety rules, practices and regulations. Understand plant systems as trade requirements.
Understand the principals of industrial safety and the handling of hazardous materials. Monitor Hazmat https://P.O.G. and fill out log. Know how to locate codes and laws (Company, State and Federal)
Plan for new installations and expansions. Plan and estimate projects/jobs (both internal and to vendors).
Work with vendor representatives to resolve system problems.
Able to use suitable test equipment to satisfy requirements. Know the use of technical manuals & publications. Checkout equipment within manufacturers’ specifications.
Work with a basic understanding of the fundamentals of industrial steam generation and industrial electricity.
Basic understanding of three phase power.
Able to read prints and schematics and utilize during troubleshooting. Able to identify symbols and use print legend. Work with basic shop math.
Document work performed, enter data into maintenance system. Maintain central history database.
Use communication devices. Give verbal pass-over information to supervision and/or subsequent shifts.
Perform and understand TPM. Perform daily equipment preventive maintenance tasks. Design and implement TPM procedures and programs.
Know all Plant Water, Steam Supply and Industrial Gas Systems. Perform pipe fitting and plumbing. Work with construction and fabrication skills. Work with basic Industrial Pneumatics.
Work from prints, drawings, service manuals and software programs, to analyze system problems. Able to conduct basic troubleshooting steps on equipment.
Document results of test of methods of repair in technical terms for record of progress and maintenance history.
Work with more advanced test equipment. Calibrate instruments for various manufacturing processes.
Basic Qualifications:
High School or GED
5+ years of related experience, or 3+ years of related experience w/completed certificate or post-secondary degree in related field.
Maine State Boiler Operator License required or the ability to obtain a Maine Boiler Operator License.
Ability to obtain by hours and experience a State of Maine 4th Class Stationary Steam Engineer License or more advanced license that is recognized by the State of Maine or issued by the State of Maine within 3 months of employment.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Preferred Qualifications:
State of Maine 3rd Class Stationary Steam Engineer License or Higher
Wastewater treatment license
Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel
Experience in the following fields, Stationary engineer, boiler operator, Powerplant Operator, Powerhouse Operator.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
