Job Summary:
- Perform the work necessary to fabricate and finish structures, platforms and similarly constructed products for factory and office applications and operate a variety of equipment and machinery.
- Plan and perform the installation of partitions and coat and cover with finishing materials.
- Hours for 1st shift will be 6:00AM – 2:30PM or 6:30AM – 3:00PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and layout work and install, maintain and repair structures using standard methods and processes to fit components, blend and match finishes.
- Work with others responsible for overall project accomplishment to prepare work site, obtain material, prefabricate components and carry out finishing operations to preserve and decorate.
- Perform similar duties throughout the facility within the scope and skill level of this job description.
- Assist other trades working on joint projects where common skill crossover provides the opportunity for shared responsibilities and more effective use of available skills.
- Make decisions regarding joining methods and approach to take for repairs and in applying and selecting finishing materials.
- Read drawings and use mathematics; principally geometry, applicable to layout work.
- Under direction of Leader/Supervisor, carry out a variety of standard fabrication projects under diverse conditions and obtain materials and tools required for laying out and building structures.
- Exercise judgment in planning the sequence of tasks and laying out project to fit specific requirements.
Physical Demands:
- Light effort required to plan work, obtain material and apply finishing products.
- Moderate effort required in working with lumber and hand tools to build and install displays, cabinets, and furniture which require considerable hand work.
- Strenuous effort required occasionally to erect scaffolding and install cabinets.
Mental Visual
- Continuous mental and visual attention required to layout work, obtain materials best suited for the project, work with hand and power tools, lumber and finishing materials.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be a https://U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
- 2 years Carpentry experience to include knowledge of cabinet making and painting, joinery, woodworking methods, layout techniques, finishing and decorating and the use of related machinery hand tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years trades training.
- Door and Locksmith Experience
- 2 years Carpentry experience
