Cloud Security Engineer

This position is CONTINGENT upon funding, an open position, customer approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain & maintain a USPS sensitive clearance.

An experienced and motivated Cloud Security Engineer to help our customer continue to mature the security of our growing cloud footprint. The ideal candidate will have experience on multiple of Azure, Google, or Amazon cloud environments including unified monitoring via cloud application security broker (CASB) and SIEM on behalf of a cybersecurity program of a medium or larger sized enterprise and be a goal-oriented, customer focused security practitioner.
 Location: Washington, DC. 
Responsibilities:    

• Must be eligible to obtain a sensitive clearance – Position of Public Trust – and may be required to obtain a higher security clearance. 
• Serving as a Subject Matter Expert in the configuration and operation of the security consoles and controls within environment
• Working with multiple teams to establish multiple integrations with the cloud application security broker
• Providing analysis of outputs and recommendations for improving overall security posture
• Participating in architecting and engineering security solutions involving cloud native and hybrid environments
• Developing technical documentation and briefing material supporting architecture discussions and leadership decision making processes

 Required Skills:

• Ability to implement security controls to comply with industry best practices and various regulatory controls
• Conduct initial triage assessments of findings from audit or testing
• Experience with Azure Security Center or Google Cloud Security Command Center
• Experience with a cloud application security broker and integration to multiple services
• Ability to review, produce and make recommendations to improve the security posture
• Engage with other internal and external groups to get and share information to improve processes and security posture
• Must have 5+ years of the experience listed above and a Bachelor's degree

  Desired Skills:

• Experience automating process using PowerShell or Python, including use of remote APIs

• Experience deploying physical, virtual and cloud hosted enterprise applications on MS Windows and/or Linux OS

• Project planning experience

• Excellent writing skills

• Microsoft office suite of applications

• Experience implementing controls supporting Zero Trust methodology

Required Experience and Education:
Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science, in an information technology discipline or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or IT work experience.
