We have a rare opportunity for a hardworking Deputy Design Manager to be based in West Palm Beach, Florida. This is a Compression Systems Design Manager position supporting the F119 Fan and HPC Compressor modules. This is a technical supervisor position where the candidate will lead the design team administratively & technically, and also participate as the design lead on the CIPT. This associate will be responsible for integration with the CIPT, mating modules, system design group and military customer in execution of design tasks supporting F119 hardware.
Organize, distribute and manage task team assignments. Support the CIPT in task planning, staffing requirements and coordinating in-house and outsource resources.
Performance feedback and results for the group as well as coach, train and develop junior design engineers. Foster a team collaboration atmosphere and ensure employees have the necessary tools to execute their work.
Cradle-to-grave design support, from preliminary through detailed design, development, validation, certification, manufacturing and operational service as well as own and drive design discipline strength through review and approval of design tasks, DSMs and design layouts. The Design Supervisor will ensure that all design requirements for the module are met.
Provide design support for production and in-service field engineering investigations as well as support for multi-discipline teams to provide design solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight.
Ensure outsourcing work is completed, reviewed and approved by design associates with appropriate proficiency level and ensure proper documentation and communication of results to management and external customers.
Coordinate with other groups to read across lessons learned, advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.
B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with 8+ years of Mechanical Design experience OR
Advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience with gas turbine engine hardware
M.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace engineering or Engineering Science
Prior experience in field & production support and hardware design.
A broad understanding of hardware, blueprints and manufacturing methods is expected.
Proven leadership and analytical skills.
Possess excellent judgment and professional maturity.
Experience with Teamcenter, Unigraphics and SAP is expected.
Experience with Ansys and classical methods of analysis.
Compression Systems Design experience and automated design optimization skills.
CORE (formerly ACE) tools are also essential for this role.
Exceptional people and problem-solving skills and will be the "go to person" for help solving complex design engineering challenges. Candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
