Position summary

About Us:

Job Summary:

The selected individual will be responsible for the adherence to all aspects of the Special Access Program (SAP) & Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Compliance Programs as stipulated by DoD 5205.07 and other program security directives. The individual will work under the guidance and direction of the Tewksbury-MA Security Manager for Special Programs.

SAP/SCI Security personnel interface with customers and the government on security requirements for special programs as well as providing guidance and support to employees working on such activities.

The CPSO must have a strong working knowledge of the Special Program Security Core Functional Areas such as Security Management, Personnel Security, Accountability, Information Security, Physical Security, Access Control, Transmission, Security Education, Contracting, and Guard Force responsibilities.

Additional assignments include document & media control, data transfers, visitor control, maintaining security files, handling & processing classified documents, and other security support activities as assigned by the Special Programs Security Manager. The CPSO is expected to prepare and conduct Program Security Awareness Briefings, develop security plans, goals, and objectives to comply with existing directives and future requirements. Additionally, the CPSO will brief & indoctrinate program personnel on the proper application of security procedures, interpret and provide classification guidance to employees, participate in self-inspections as well as customer reviews, and investigate security incidents. Furthermore, the CPSO will support other security related tasks as assigned by the Special Programs Security Manager.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Administering the security procedures (NISPOM, DoDM 5205.07 series, and Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705), as they relate to operating in a classified environment for: personnel processing, media control, marking and control of documents / materials, security education, visitor control, destruction of classified.

  • Develop, prepare, and implement local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Operations Security (OPSEC) Plans, and proprietary test plans utilizing risk management principles.

  • Implement a media control program in accordance with Physical & JSIG requirements.

  • Provide security oversight and management to subcontractors and subordinate business units via the DD Form 254 or other contractual methods.

  • Establish, gain accreditation, and maintain a secure facility in accordance with ICD 705.

  • Establish and oversee specialized procedures for the transmission of classified and/or proprietary material/information.

  • Establish and maintain a visitor control program.

  • Conduct and/or participate in internal reviews and/or Government inspections.

  • Investigate security infractions/violations and prepare reports specifying the potential for loss or compromise and the associated risk to the program(s).

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Working knowledge of the DoD Manual 5205.07 Vols. 1-

  • Familiarity of Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) manuals Experience with self-assessments and formal customer inspections

  • DISS, JADE, and JADS user experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required

  • Active and In-Scope Top Secret security clearance with an investigation not older than 6 years.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • A valid driver’s license

  • Top Secret Control Officer experience

  • Top Secret/SCI eligibility is desired.
