    Collins Aerospace is looking for an individual who is familiar with cost-reimbursement, fixed price and time/material contracts related to Government direct and indirect programs. They will work closely with the Value Stream Manager and other IPT team members. The Contract Specialist will participate in the proposal process serving as a Contract's lead, providing advice and counsel to the program team, leading negotiations with the customer and ensuring proper execution of contracts and agreements.  Additionally, this position will provide all post-award contract management, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, regulations, corporate policies and best practices. 

    Currently this team is fully remote. The ideal candidate would be a commutable distance from our Windsor Locks, CT site. This position will be considered a hybrid schedule reporting on-site as needed.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Provide cradle-to-grave contract management for assigned contracts. 
    • Review all customer requests for proposals and information ensuring coordination with the program/proposal team.  Participate in the proposal process as Contracts lead.
    • Review and/or draft proposed contract terms & conditions, identifying contractual and business risks, provide contract leadership for customer fact-finds and business negotiations.
    • Ensure proper internal flow down of contractual obligations and requirements.
    • Track incoming changes from customer, maintain change ledger, and drive change assertion process (via CRB, CCB, etc.) through closure.
    • Understand and support internal financial goals (milestones, progress payments, payment terms, schedule flexibility, cash collection, etc.).
    • Protect Collins Intellectual Property interest through appropriate contract terms & conditions and Non-Disclosure Agreements as appropriate.
    • Work with International Trade Compliance (ITC) personnel to ensure compliance with all import/export regulations.
    • Coordinate customer hardware demand, including input demand changes within SAP.
    • Generate CRM, production, follow on, development, new business and change Proposals (including TINA).
    • Conduct Contract/PO Closeouts.
    • Support Continuous improvements initiatives (ACE). 

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
    • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR
    • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Background in US Government (indirect or direct) contracting, ideally in aerospace and/or defense systems is a plus.

    • US Government Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) experience

    • SAP working knowledge

    • FAR/DFAR working knowledge (FAR 12 and FAR 15)

    • Contract proposal creation/execution

    • Contract negotiation and award experience

    • Ability to provide contractual guidance

    • Capable of executing in a fast-paced, high impact/visible environment
