Position summary

Raytheon Intelligence and Space, (RIS) is currently seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to support the Surveillance Radar Program in Taiwan. The successful candidate will join a team of engineers in a challenging assignment at a remote mountain top location.  He/she should be familiar with cyber threat intelligence analysis, correlate actionable security events, perform network traffic analysis, and custom sensor output as it pertains to the cyber security of communications networks.  The work involves 12 hour shifts on day or nighttime rotations to insure 24/7 operation.  This individual will perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Understand primary cybersecurity policy information including Risk Management Framework
  • Help ensure Cyber policy is enforced and supported leadership reviews
  • Review DoD and open-source intelligence for threats
  • Two (2) or more years of working experience troubleshooting Linux systems to quickly return system to operational status.
  • Identify Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and integrate those into sensors and SIEMs
  • Triage alerts to identify malicious actors on customer networks
  • Work with team for tasks such as issuances of Smart Cards, managing policies for system deployment and on system assets
  • Perform Vulnerability Scans
  • Willing to perform shift work

Required Experience:

  • Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to create complex technical reports on analytic findings
  • Demonstrated understanding of the life cycle of network threats, attacks, attack vectors and methods of exploitation with an understanding of intrusion set tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs)
  • Demonstrated understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth and common security elements
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data and other attack artifacts in support of incident investigations
  • In-depth knowledge of architecture, engineering, and operations of at least one enterprise SIEM platform
  • Experience with malware analysis concepts and methods
  • Linux and Windows technical experience
  • Scripting and programming experience
  • Active DoD Secret clearance that has either been issued or reinvestigated within the last 5 years

Desired Experience:

  • DoD 8570 IAT II
  • CND experience (Protect, Detect, Respond and Sustain) within a Computer Incident Response organization or Security Operations Center
  • Experience and proficiency with any of the following: Anti-Virus, HIPS, ID/IPS, Full Packet Capture, Host-Based Forensics, Network Forensics, Vulnerability Scanning tools
  • Knowledge of DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework
  • Advanced certifications such as SANS GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, CISSP or CASP and/or SIEM-specific training and certification
  • Demonstrated commitment to training, self-study and maintaining proficiency in the technical cyber security domain

Required Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience OR an AS Degree with 8 years' relevant experience, OR at least 12 years of relevant experience.
