Design Engineer – Electrical Integration (Hybrid)

We are hiring for a Design Engineer**.** The candidate will be responsible for devising solutions for complex technical problems by applying advanced technical principles and concepts along with a multi-disciplinary approach. This person will serve as a spokesperson on advanced projects, act as an advisor to the engineering community and management, mentor other engineers and provide input for new work/proposals in the area of expertise.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Integrate electrical components and wiring into design while meeting vendor and OEM requirements.
• Liaises between electrical integration team, electrical certification, design engineering, vendors and project teams.
• Prepares work statements for electrical integration team.
• Directs the work of outsource resources assigned on projects in electrical integration areas.
• Verify system configuration and block diagrams.
• Prepare, modify and release drawings created in CAD (NX) to verify fit, form and function of mechanical and electrical designs.
• Design brackets and fixations for electrical components and wiring.  Verify structural acceptability of designs by testing prototypes for reliability and FAA certification through static and dynamic crash testing.
• Evaluate materials and parts for use in new designs including communicating with current and new suppliers.
• Operate in a team environment with other functional areas providing input to design solutions and participate in design reviews

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR
• In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
• Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in the design of mechanical systems or systems packaging for commercial aircraft seating products is a plus.
• Familiarity with FAA requirements and/or knowledge or experience with applicable aircraft specs related to wiring routing.
• Experience with mechanical routing of electrical harnesses, hydraulic lines or other mechanical routing.
