Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Design Engineer II to join the Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) Team at their North Berwick location. The North Berwick Engineering Center (NBEC) organization is responsible for engineering activities for hardware throughout the gas turbine including the Fan/Low Pressure Compressor, High Pressure Compressor, Combustor, Low Pressure Turbine, High Pressure turbine and Mechanical System modules across all of Pratt & Whitney's military and commercial products. NBEC is co-located with Pratt & Whitney’s largest manufacturing facility. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with North Berwick operations to ensure producible part designs and timely disposition of non-conforming material. 
• Work closely with North Berwick raw material suppliers to ensure producible part designs and timely disposition of non-conforming material. 
• Provide engineering liaison function for hardware that is designed outside of NBEC to North Berwick business units.
• Participate in Green Belt/Black Belt/Red-X Specialties projects to identify production challenges, and identify proposed solutions.
• Process engineering changes to improve part producibility, reduce cost, or improve hardware throughput.
• Participate in IPT meetings to transfer production learning into new designs.
• Assist in clearing Work-Stoppages/Escapes.
• Participate in MRL assessments to ensure production readiness.
• Ensure compliance to Pratt and Whitney's engineering process called Engineering Standard Work.
• Drive proposal development, risk mitigation planning, technology development, and associated documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or in a related field and  2+ years’ prior relevant experience, OR an Advance Degree in a related field.
• US Citizenship required due to Government Contracts.
• Travel up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in one of the following engineering disciplines: Design, Project Management or Analysis.
• Proven experience leading teams in the successful execution of tasks to meet technical, schedule and budget requirements.
• Previous experience executing hardware deliveries for rigs or modules.
• Capability to work and lead in collaboration with other non-collocated teams.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles.
• The ability to craft clear communication.
