Fan Military Development design team is seeking a Seasoned Design Engineering professional who works independently. Experience in commercial and military Fan, Low Pressure Compressor, and High-Pressure Compressor design is desired. If you have relevant design background or experience in these areas and possess the skills and motivation to bring new ideas into practice, we would like to like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Design support across all phases of the design cycle, concept initiation & optimization, preliminary through detailed design, development, validation, certification, manufacturing, and operational service
Designs new products and processes and improves and maintains existing products to help create better products or processes and ensure that the current and future needs of the business are met.
Designs and implements common procedures and standard work across the organization to optimize efficiency and quality.
Designs and reviews layouts of components, calculates stack-up of detail components, and performs major cost studies consisting of new details and/or marked prints and all supporting documentation, when necessary, to facilitate operations and ensure that established objectives and budgets are achieved.
Develops data and makes layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal.
Resolves design problems of difficult-to-complex scope to ensure project completion.
Reviews completed layouts and drawings to ensure clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
Communicates with the other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and ensure project completion.
Provides technical leadership and when required, assists in training less experienced engineers to help them diagnose and solve problems and build capabilities.
Candidates must be willing to work in an on-site environment.
Basic Qualifications:
B.S. Engineering
2+ years prior relevant experience
US Citizenship or US Person Status required due to government contract
Government Security Clearance required
Travel at 10%
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Teamcenter, Unigraphics, Ansys, and classical methods of analysis preferred.
The ability to maintain a security clearance
Candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding of hardware, blueprints, and manufacturing methods.
