Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer. We’re looking for an electrical engineer with a passion for aerospace to design and support Electric Power Distribution products. The candidate will be expected to support both new product design and ongoing support for existing distribution products as well as bridge the gap between the hardware, software, and systems teams. This role will include regularly troubleshooting complex problems, developing solutions, and communicating outcomes while working with other circuit, electronics packaging, software, and system engineers. The candidate would ideally be familiar with aerospace design processes, and procedures such as DO-160 and DO-254.
Must be a commutable distance from Rockford, IL to work a hybrid schedule reporting on-site as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline preferred
Experience in electronic circuit design and testing preferred
Experience working in a team environment and communicating across multiple disciplines and levels of management preferred
Ability to read wiring schematics preferred
Aerospace experience preferred
Familiarity with DO-160 and DO-254 hardware design processes preferred
Experience with technologies related to specific power distribution systems preferred
Experience with Word/Excel/ PowerPoint preferred
History of continuous improvement and relentless root cause methodology preferred
Firmware experience preferred
