Position Overview:
The Avionics Hardware Design & Support team in the Computing Products department has an opening for an Associate Electrical Engineer at Collins Aerospace. Our team is responsible for the development and sustainment of state of the art avionics hardware products including Integrated Multi-Module Processing Cabinets, Display Processing Modules, Avionics Gateway Units, Data Link Communication Units, and Control Panels used in a variety of Air Transport and Business & Regional platforms.
Our products employ the following technologies and interfaces; Airborne Electronic Hardware (including FPGA, CPLD, ASICs), embedded processing resources (PowerPC, Intel, and ARM), avionics interfaces (including ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, I2C, SPI, Ethernet), video interfaces (including SMPTE, analog, DVI, DisplayPort).
This position is for an Electrical Engineer to be involved in the development of new digital hardware circuit boards for new products. Responsibilities will also include support of existing products including product recertification driven by minor or major changes, cost savings identification, troubleshooting equipment from the field or OEM assembly line and obsolescence management. Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Primary Responsibilities:
Electrical Engineers at Collins Aerospace perform activities that span all phases of the hardware development lifecycle, including requirements capture, design, integration, verification, factory transition, and customer interface.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and less than 12 months of experience
Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with digital electronics design principles
Some familiarity with the schematic capture process for creation of circuit card designs (PCB)
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Be able to multi-task and manage through unexpected events.
Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner and produce effective, clear and concise technical documentation
